New Spider-Man 3 fan art imagines the returning Doctor Octopus battling Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield’s Spideys. After Spider-Man: Far From Home’s shocking mid-credit scene, which saw Spider-Man’s identity revealed, and also had Peter Parker (Holland) framed for killing Mysterio/Quentin Beck, fans of Marvel were left with tons of questions. Although for a moment it looked like a third installment was not going to happen, Sony and Marvel are moving forward with Holland’s third standalone film as the web slinger, as production continues in Atlanta. However, as well as a cliffhanger ending, Spider-Man: Far From Home's return of J. K. Simmons as Jonah Jameson also highlighted the possible multiverse, which Spider-Man 3 will almost certainly explore.

Kevin Feige confirmed that the next installment of Spider-Man does indeed connect with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, seemingly confirming the exploring of the multiverse in the next Spidey film. Thus far, Jamie Foxx is expected to bring back his Electro character in the upcoming Marvel film, along with The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are also reportedly in talks for Spider-Man 3 to reprise their roles from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, and Alfred Molina will return as Doctor Octopus as well. The excitement of this new spider-verse has led many fans to picture the possible visuals in the form of fan art, and a new piece of art shows Doc Ock battling all three Spider-Men.

An Instagram post from digital artist ultraraw26 shows Molina’s Doctor Octopus in a recreation from the famous final battle at Doc Ock’s waterfront laboratory in Spider-Man 2. However, this time, Doctor Octopus seems to be holding Holland’s Spider-Man high in the air with his mechanical arms while Garfield and Maguire’s versions of Spider-Man look set to spring into action in the background. Interestingly, the art also shows Charlie Cox’s Daredevil tied up. One would imagine the evil Doctor’s odds are not great against these four heroes, but this piece of art shows Otto with the upper-hand. Full post can be seen below:

What’s great about this new piece of art is that it not only toys with the idea of seeing all three versions of Spider-Man together battling Doctor Octopus, but also inserts all the character’s into one specific Spider-Man universe, that being Raimi’s Spider-Man story. It’s another interesting thought, as perhaps some of these characters will return in recreations of past scenes, similar to Avengers: Endgame. Also, the art does touch on the rumored inclusion of Daredevil as well. No real story details have been revealed as of yet, but the possibilities of what could happen in Spider-Man 3 are seemingly endless, which this new piece of art highlights.

Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man film will not only see Molina and Foxx reportedly return - yesterday it was reported that Willem Dafoe will return as Green Goblin and Thomas Haden Church will return as Sandman. Both are villains from Maguire’s Spider-Man films. Although the merging of the Spider-Man franchises is exciting, there is the fear of doing too much and possibly looking past the great twist at the end of Far From Home. However, if Marvel have proven anything these past two years, it’s that they can handle a film with a lot of moving parts. As time goes on and shooting continues, more details regarding Spider-Man 3 will surely come out. But for now, fans can enjoy the imaginative fan art of Doc Ock vs. all the Spideys.
