Warning! Spoilers for Avengers Forever #5 by Marvel Comics

In the vastness of the Marvel Multiverse, a new hero or villain is about to emerge who seems to combine the look and costumes (and potentially the powers) of Spider-Man and Ant-Man. In a new preview for Avengers Forever #5 by Marvel Comics, a combination of the arachnid and insect heroes are potentially being teased on a brand new cover from artist Lee Garbett. But, is the Ant-Man/Spider-Man combination hero friend or foe?

In the Avengers Forever series by Marvel Comics, Tony Stark's Ant-Man and Robbie Reyes' Ghost-Rider (now the All-Rider) are facing off against some of the greatest threats in the Multiverse. Ghost-Rider and Ant-Man initially sparred with the Black Skull and his variants, as they teamed up with the Goddesses of Thunder to defeat them. However, with the Multiversal Masters of Evil unleashing chaos across different realities, things aren't about to get easier for the heroes. In an upcoming adventure, they'll face off against Doom Supreme, with a new variant cover teasing a new potential Ant-Man/Spider-Man combined hero.

In a new preview for Avengers Forever #5, Marvel Comics teased a new set of Avengers from across the Multiverse being introduced. Previews revealed a new cover featuring different versions of Man-Thing with some of the greatest powers wielded by Earth-616 Avengers, including the Starbrand and Phoenix Force. In an additional variant cover from Lee Garbett, Spider-Man and Ant-Man might become one combined hero with a slick costume that highlights both characters' original designs. It's not clear whether this version of Ant-Man/Spider-Man will be introduced in the series or if it's just a cover design showcasing another potentially Multiversal combination character.

Ant-Man Spider-Man

The art from Lee Garbett is stunning. The Ant-Man/Spider-Man combined character can be seen hanging upside down with a horde of spiders surrounding them. The costume seemingly combines Ant-Man and Spider-Man into a new kind of hero, as the design merges their costumes in a creepy manner. It's possible the character is just a Spider-Man variant, but the toothy mask is similar to looks Ant-Man has worn in the past.

So, while it's unclear whether the Spider-Man hero is an Ant-Man variant and if they will appear in future issues of Avengers Forever or they're just a variant cover creation, it's still cool to see a new spider-hero emerge from across the Multiverse. The potential Spider-Man and Ant-Man combined hero (or villain) will appear on the cover of Avengers Forever #5 by Marvel Comics, which is in stores on Wednesday.
