Marvel Studios and Sony Pitcures Entertainment's Spider-Man 3 will be beginning filming this month. After a brief conflict that almost pulled the character out of the MCU last year, Tom Holland will remain a part of the universe of the upcoming threequel. The blockbuster isn't set to release until December 2021, but work appears to already be kicking off in a few days.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, filming and release schedule for MCU, like the rest of Hollywood, has been shuffled a few times now. Phase 4 which was about to kick off back in May via Black Widow is now delayed a full year, resulting in a ripple effect on the universe's full slate. Still, Marvel Studios is trying to slowly return to work with upcoming TV shows like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki back on set, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings also filming in Australia.

Following those projects' footsteps, Spider-Man 3 appears to be kicking off production soon with a new set photo indicating that filming is scheduled to take place in Queens on October 16, 2020. The image shared on Reddit by u/Arsenio3 reveals the rest of the shooting details included in the notice for "Serenity Now" which is another Seinfeld-themed working title for the movie. Check it out below:

Plot details are still scarce at the moment for Spider-Man 3, but fans have their own theories on what the threequel will be like thanks to where Spider-Man: Far From Home left the character. At the end of the film, Peter Parker's real identity as the web-slinging hero has been revealed, and to make things worse, he's also being framed for the death of Quentin Beck/Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). Depending on when the film picks up, it will more likely see the young hero dealing with the fallout of these. Initially, it would be safe to say that this would be the full premise of the movie, but with latest news that Jamie Foxx is returning as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film, it may no longer be the case. Between that and the introduction of J.K. Simmons' J. Jonah Jameson from Sam Raimi's trilogy, Spider-Man 3  may very well be MCU's version of Spider-Verse.

While this does confirm that there will be filming for Spider-Man 3 in New York this month, chances are that Holland or any other cast member won't be there to partake in it. If anything, this could be all for establishing shots that don't really need any actors and can be done with a second unit crew, this way they can get the ball rolling ahead of principal photography. This is important now more than ever considering how the industry is trying to be as safe as possible while working at this time of a global pandemic. That said, it's an indication that it's not too long from now before Holland is back on set to begin filming for the movie.
