Jamie Foxx's Electro gets the comics accurate design he deserves in this MCU Spider-Man 3 art. Foxx brought the electric villain to the big screen in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a movie that Sony envisioned as a springboard for bigger Spider-Man plans. However, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 underwhelmed audiences, and many were displeased with the drastic change made to Electro's appearance. Instead of his usual green suit and yellow lightning, Foxx sported bright blue skin. As Sony's future Amazing Spider-Man plans fell to the wayside (and with Electro dying in the film), it looked like Foxx's time as the antagonist started and ended with that movie.

However, that is no longer the case. In October, news broke that Foxx will reportedly reprise his Electro for the MCU's upcoming Spider-Man 3. He confirmed the news on social media at the time, though recently Foxx hinted he might not be in the movie. It seems more likely that, as Marvel hasn't issued their own confirmation, he isn't allowed to say anything. Nevertheless, fans are abuzz with excitement about Electro's role in Spider-Man 3, which is so far being shrouded in secrecy. One thing seems clear though: Electro's design will be different this time around.

Fans are optimistic about seeing a more comics accurate version of Electro in Spider-Man 3, and several have envisioned possible looks for the character. The latest comes from bobby_art and dresses Electro in a familiar green suit with yellow accents. With his similarly yellow eyes, this looks like the Spider-Man villain fans have always wanted to see. Check it out below.

In a since-deleted post on social media, Foxx hinted Electro won't be blue in Spider-Man 3, which comes as quite the relief. Spider-Man 3 presents an opportunity to fix past mistakes in regards to Electro's depiction, and it would also give Foxx a chance to play a new version of the character. Plus, by including a character from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the door has been opened for other past Spider-Man actors to appear within the MCU. There are many fans who are very interested in that idea, particularly when it comes to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Of course, much of Spider-Man 3 remains a mystery right now. Production is currently underway, with the MCU's webslinger Tom Holland back in action. Whether Foxx will also be reporting for duty remains to be seen, but fans will surely be keeping their eyes peeled in the coming months. As Spider-Man 3 is slated for release in December 2021, it might be some time before more information is revealed. Hopefully Marvel will take pity and share some new details soon.
