Miles Morales' voice actor, Shameik Moore, thinks he's too old to play a live-action Miles Morales. Moore voiced Miles in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse in 2018. Into the Spider-Verse did incredibly well with fans and critics, and made Sony a good chunk of change at the box office. The film did so well that it even won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film at last year's Academy Awards. With the popularity of the film, there have been rumors that Sony could develop a live-action Spider-Verse movie.

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy starred Tobey Maguire, whose first two films were well-received. Andrew Garfield became Spidey next for Marc Webb's two Amazing Spider-Man films, which were more divisive than Raimi's films. Even before Into the Spider-Verse was released, fans had wanted to see Maguire, Garfield, and Holland team up and even more so when it was revealed the trio almost voiced different Spider-Men in Into the Spider-Verse. With Raimi directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and graffiti of Maguire's Spider-Man showing up in the trailer for Morbius, fans believe Sony could be planning a live-action Spider-Verse. If that were to happen though, Moore might not play Miles Morales.

Moore recently took to Twitter to respond to a fan saying he should play Miles in a live-action Spider-Verse movie. Moore said he would love to play the character but thought he would be too old to portray the character. Another fan said he could play an older version of Miles from another dimension, to which Moore said he would be honored to do. Both of Moore's original tweets can be read below:

While a live-action Spider-Verse movie has not been confirmed by Sony just yet, the studio doesn't plan on slowing down on one of their most valuable pieces of IP. Sony is of course continuing their Spider-Man villain movies with Morbius, Venom Let There Be Carnage, and various other movies based around Spider-Man's famous villains. The animated side of Spider-Man is also continuing given the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Not only is Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 coming in 2022, but Sony is also developing an all-female Spider-Verse spin-off with Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman, Madame Web, Spider-Girl, and Silk thought to be the main characters.

Even though Moore is quite a bit older than Miles Morales is in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, he isn't necessarily too old to play the character in a live-action film. Holland is currently 23 years old and playing a high-schooler in the MCU, and Moore is only two years older than him. That being said, there's no telling when Sony would release the movie, so by the time a live-action Spider-Verse movie is developed and enters production, Moore probably couldn't pass for a teenager anymore. In the end, a live-action Spider-Verse movie might not even happen, but fans would certainly love to see one.
