Everything We Know About Across The Spider-Verse

Miles Morales in Spider-Verse 2

So far, only one Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer has been released, but there is already a lot known about the upcoming sequel. For starters, Miles and Spider-Gwen will be reunited with Peter B. Parker, with Jake Johnson reprising the role of the veteran web-slinger from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, expect Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to bring in several new Spider-people throughout the film that come from the Marvel canon.

While there are likely going to be some surprises, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has at least three new Spider-heroes coming into the franchise. Issa Rae will be voicing Jessica Drew, better known as Spider-Woman, which will be the first time she is on the big screen. Daniel Kaluuya will be playing Hobart "Hobie" Brown, better known to comic fans as Spider-Punk. Lastly, Takuya Yamashiro, the Japanese Spider-Man, is appearing in the sequel. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will also continue to flesh out Oscar Isaac's Miguel O'Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099, after he appeared in the post-credits scene for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With the film also focusing on six different Spider-Man universes, time will tell what other doppelgangers will show up.

Even though things have slowed down for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man, it's still great to see how Sony is continuing to build out their other Spider-Man property, especially after how successful the first Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film was for them. With Miles gaining more traction in media, his franchise is also allowing other characters from the Spider-Verse to get their due in media. From Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Woman, to Spider-Punk, it strengthens the Spider-Man IP with so many varied characters for fans to get attached to in these films. Hopefully, it won't be much longer until Sony drops a new trailer for Spider-Man. Across the Spider-Verse, to give more glimpses into the highly anticipated sequel.
