Spider-Man's greatest villains are about to have their own Civil War in Marvel Comics. Spidey has had his hands full with a slew of different villains, but things could be getting even crazier now.
Nick Spencer's Amazing Spider-Man run has placed a lot of focus on second chances. Amazing Spider-Man has thrown Peter Parker - and his foes - a lot of them. Peter has a second chance to be with Mary Jane, J. Jonah Jameson has a second chance at controlling himself when it comes to Spider-Man, Lizard has a second chance with his family. However, some villains just refuse to reform. The Vulture was seen previously trying to lead up a team of villains, the Savage Six, and it seems like they're back in a big way.
Marvel Comics has announced a new series that stems from the current run of Amazing Spider-Man. Written by Spencer with art by Mark Bagley, Sinister War will bring about the return of Doctor Octopus. It will also pit two supervillain teams against one another in a villainous version of Marvel's Civil War. The series will begin in July 2021 and feature the Sinister Six, led by Doc Ock, waging war against Vulture's Savage Six. Check out the preview art and synopsis below:

There have been multiple versions of a Savage Six team in Marvel comics, but this particular version is led by the Vulture, which is intriguing because he is typically a staple on the Sinister Six. The Sinister Six has been a recurring villain team Spidey faces that originally featured Doctor Octopus, Electro, Vulture, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, and Sandman. There have been numerous variations on this team, with it occasionally expanding into the Sinister Twelve or even Sinister Sixty. The new Sinister Six appears to include Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Kraven, Lizard, and Hydro-Man. Missing from the first promo art is a sixth member.
Particularly fun should be the return of Doctor Octopus who has been absent in this run and most likely will not be reformed - though he could have a chance. He was last living in Peter's body and roundaboutly ruining his life. While he has returned to his own body, he hasn't really been present in the ongoing series - which will change when he and other Spider-Man villains engage in their Sinister War from Marvel Comics in July.
