Spider-Man and Venom movies are finally making their way to Disney+, though not all will be making their way to the streaming service just yet. It looks as though a deal has been struck with Sony Pictures, allowing for an archive of existing Spider-Man movies to start streaming alongside Marvel's sizable catalog of films and shows on Disney+. That said, this new announcement is hopefully just the beginning.

Revealed in a brand-new promo from Disney+, it's been revealed that Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy will be available on April 21st alongside Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man. Likewise, Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Homecoming will be coming to Disney+ on May 12th. You can check out the promo below:

Additionally, it's been confirmed that Venom starring Tom Hardy will start streaming on May 12th as well.

Why Disney+ Doesn't Have Far From Home Or No Way Home

While this is very exciting news, there are still some incredibly significant Spider-Man movies Disney+ has yet to add to its library. This includes Holland's Spider-Man: Far From Home as well as Spider-Man: No Way Home which features the MCU Webslinger's multiversal team-up with Maguire and Garfield's respective Spider-Men. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is noticeably absent as well. Additionally, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is missing alongside Sony's animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie.

Given some of the more recent release dates for many of the missing sequels, it stands to reason that those movies are still tied up in existing streaming deals. However, this new announcement suggests a desire to eventually have all the existing Spider-Man movies and spin-offs on Disney+. As such, it's likely that Disney is simply waiting for the contracts to expire before they'll start working with Sony to add the full collection of Spider-Man and Venom movies to their already quite large library of Marvel content.

At any rate, it's very exciting that Disney+ now has the entire Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy as well as the first Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield. Also, the addition of Spider-Man: Homecoming is a great first step toward filling in the gaps present in the MCU timeline featured on Disney+. That being said, here's hoping the full list of Spider-Man and Venom movies will soon make their way to the streaming service in the near future.
