[SPOILERS ahead for Spider-Man: Homecoming.]
Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland says he would be up for his Peter Parker mentoring Miles Morales in the MCU. Sony and Marvel Studios officially announced Spider-Man would join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2015, and the character of Peter Parker has since debuted in Captain America: Civil War. The web-slinging high school student is next set to lead his own film in Jon Watts' Spider-Man: Homecoming, solidifying Peter Parker as a major player in the MCU.
However, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and it's already announced sequel, aren't the only Spider-Man-related film properties in the pipeline at the moment. Sony is also planning movies starring Spider-Man characters Venom, Black Cat, and Silver Sable that will be separate from the MCU, plus the studio is producing an animated Spider-Man movie from Phil Lord and Chris Miller focused on a fan-favorite character to take up the mantle in the Marvel comics: Miles Morales. Still, fans have wondered if Miles Morales could appear in the MCU - and it's something Homecoming's star would be interested in seeing.

During the press junket for Spider-Man: Homecoming this weekend, Screen Rant sat down with Holland to talk about his first solo film in the MCU. When asked if, at some point in the future, he'd like to see his character mentor another Spider-Man - like Miles - similar to Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) mentoring Peter in Homecoming, Holland said:
That would be something that I would be very up for doing, it’s something that I would really really hope to happen. I think Miles Morales is a great character, I think it would be fantastic to have an actor of color playing a superhero on screen and I just think it’s going to be something very cool and something very exciting for this universe.
Talk of a live-action version of Miles Morales has been around for years, especially since Atlanta creator and star Donald Glover campaigned for Miles' Spider-Man to appear on screen; he eventually voiced the version of Spidey on Disney XD's Ultimate Spider-Man. While it doesn't look like the actor will be portraying the fan-favorite character in the MCU, Glover's role in Spider-Man: Homecoming does have comic book ties to Miles. It was recently confirmed Glover is playing Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming, a character Marvel comic fans will recognize as the supervillain Prowler, who also happens to be the uncle of Miles Morales.
However, while Spider-Man: Homecoming includes a character with ties to Miles Morales, that doesn't mean Marvel has plans to introduce the fan-favorite web-slinger. Since Holland's Peter Parker is very much a young hero who's still coming to terms with what it means to be a superhero in the world of the Avengers, he has a great deal of growing up to do before he's ready to be a mentor. Plus, since the Peter in Homecoming is a teenager, Holland could play Spider-Man for many years to come.
Still, fans would no doubt enjoy the opportunity to see Holland's Peter Parker develop to the point that he's established enough as a hero to take on a mentee like the younger web-slinger - Marvel already has one actor clamoring for the role since Power Rangers star RJ Cyler wants to play Miles Morales. But, whether that happens in the future remains to be seen.
