A fan-made video animates the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Tom Holland in the style of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Released in 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse launched Sony's animated webslinging franchise that follows Miles Morales as he becomes Spider-Man and teams up with various Spider-People from around the multiverse. The animated film stars Shameik Moore as Miles, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, and Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen. A sequel, titled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, is scheduled to be released next year and will see the proper introduction of Oscar Isaac after the first film's post-credits scene, Issa Rae, and Daniel Kaluuya as other Spider-People.

While Sony's Into the Spider-Verse gathered together many Spider-Men, the MCU did similar in Spider-Man: No Way Home when Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield made surprise appearances reprising their previous roles as Peter Parker. Still, the two franchises had yet to connect until now. Corridor Digital released a new video titled Spider-Man: EVERYONE'S HOME that shows what could have happened if Holland's Peter Parker was pulled into the Spider-Verse when Doctor Strange's spell went awry in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The result was a massive meeting of Spider-People from all over pop culture and the MCU's Avengers animated in the Spider-Verse style using an AI. Check out the video below:

Could Tom Holland Join The Spider-Verse For Real?

Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales Peter Parker, and Spider-Man Noir

While both Sony's Spider-Verse and the MCU have expanded into the multiverse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is expected to broaden its boundaries even further. The Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel will take place across six different universes and will feature 240 unique characters. With those kinds of numbers, it seems that the Spider-Verse will be bringing more Spider-Man characters to the big screen than ever before, but now the question becomes whether Tom Holland's Spider-Man could actually join them, which would bridge the MCU and the Spider-Verse.

The MCU and the Spider-Verse colliding would be a monumental undertaking for Marvel and Sony, but it's not impossible. Sony still holds the rights to the MCU's standalone Spider-Man trilogy, so the studio could bring Holland's variant in whenever they want. It also seems likely that Holland would be willing to reprise his role in the animated franchise, as the actor shared his desire to join a Spider-Verse movie in 2021, while Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller hinted at a potential franchise crossover earlier this year. Considering all this together, it seems like only a matter of time before Holland would join the animated franchise.

Still, none of this guarantees that Holland will reprise his Spider-Man role in the MCU or in the Spider-Verse. There has been no confirmation yet that Holland signed a new contract, but rumors about a potential Spider-Man 4 and about Holland's Peter Parker appearing in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have circled online of recent, though with rumors of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire also returning for the animated sequel out there, it seems hard to thoroughly trust said reports. Ultimately, there just isn't enough information yet to predict where Holland's Spider-Man will show up next, but fans will certainly be excited whenever he does.
