Players will get access to three brand new costumes in the remastered PlayStation 5 version of Marvel's Spider-Man, with Sony revealing that the Andrew Garfield-era suit from The Amazing Spider-Man will be counted among them. The game will release as part of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, although it will only be available to those who buy the Ultimate Edition of the upcoming standalone expansion. Fans will not be able to buy the remaster separately or upgrade from the PlayStation 4 version.

Unlike many other next-gen upgrades, the updated version of Marvel's Spider-Man will not simply be a port with improved graphics. Insomniac Games is working to revamp the experience entirely, including brand new content and features. Some of the announced features include additional costumes and updates to Photo Mode to allow players to customize photographs in more creative ways. However, the remaster has also caused controversy, with one point of contention being the fact that players cannot transfer their save progress from the PlayStation 4 edition.

In a new post on its website, PlayStation has revealed much more information about the PlayStation 5 remaster of Marvel's Spider-Man. One of the highlights of the article is the fact that the game will include three brand new costumes for Peter Parker to wear in-game. Unfortunately, fans can only get a glimpse of one of these so far, which is known as the Amazing Suit. Reminiscent of the suit worn in The Amazing Spider-Man films, it is a darker version of the normal Spider-Man costume. The colors also seem to be more vibrant thanks to a black outline highlighting the different elements of the Amazing Suit.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is set an entire year after the events of the first game and will act as a continuation of the story rather than a true sequel. According to developer Insomniac Games, the story will see Miles Morales fighting against the Tinkerer and his gang in Harlem. Players will also be able to use special abilities that are unique to this alter-ego of Spider-Man, such as the Venom Strike. The spin-off will launch in November for both PlayStation 4 and 5.

Even though fans have been eagerly anticipating the remastered Marvel's Spider-Man ever since it was announced earlier this summer, the game has led to some controversy. The uproar has mainly been focused on the fact that the title will only be included as part of Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition instead of being sold separately. Sony obviously wants to force players into buying the new expansion so including extra content exclusive to the remaster is a good way to add extra value. However, it's not clear whether this will be enough to get players to part with their cash.
