Following the reveal that Miles Morales will be appearing in the upcoming video game, Spider-Man PS4, Insomniac Games is continuing to tease the character's role by offering vague details about his connection to Peter Parker.
At E3 2017, fans got to see nine minutes of footage featuring the wall-crawling hero putting his unique skill-set to use in fighting gangsters and swinging through a highly-detailed New York City in an open-world setting.
In the style of movies set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the footage featured a surprise at the end in the form of Miles Morales, portrayed as a young man who records some of the action on the streets with his cell phone. Now, Insomniac Games has taken to Twitter to share some more information about Miles and how he fits into the game. You can see their post in the space below:

The tweet doesn't reveal much about what to expect from the character, but it's possible that clues could be found in what we already know of the game's story. Peter Parker will be a 23-year-old college student in the game, which means that Morales could be an acquaintance from college, though Morales is generally portrayed as a teenager who's still in high school.
If Morales doesn't develop super powers in the game, he could serve as a supporting character who will find a way to assist Peter in his quest to stop Mister Negative or any other villain that Spider-Man faces. The comic book version of the character also shares a connection to Parker and ends up being trained by him.
The news comes as the popularity of the character continues to soar, which began when he replaced Parker as "Spider-Man" in the Ultimate Marvel universe. When that universe was destroyed, Morales became a resident of the mainstream Marvel Universe, allowing him to interact with Parker and other Marvel characters. Being integrated into the Marvel Universe has made him more popular and has made it possible for him to become involved in Marvel's biggest events, such as Civil War II and Secret Empire.
Not only has there already been talk of Morales existing in the MCU, the character played a key role in The Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series, where he went by the name, "Kid Arachnid." He's also set to appear as the protagonist of the animated Spider-Man film.
Spider-Man PS4 will be released in the first half of 2018.
