Fans of Insomniac's Spider-Man now know when to expect the first drop of post-release content after the title's launch on September 7. As well as the expansive game's 20-hour main campaign and various side quests, the first of three DLCs is coming to Spider-Man soon after it swings onto the PlayStation 4.

Picking up a wholly original story with a more experienced version of the Web-Head, Insomniac's Spider-Man includes fan-favorite villains like Shocker, Vulture, Scorpion, Rhino, and Mister Negative as a mysterious benefactor sets up their own Sinister Six. While Spider-Man is confirmed to include other foes like Wilson Fisk and Norman Osborn, the DLCs promise to introduce even more rogues from Spider-Man's eclectic gallery of bad guys.

In a blog post on PlayStation.com, Insomniac's Community Director James Stevenson revealed when gamers can expect the first DLC. According to Stevenson, "The City That Never Sleeps" DLC will release in three parts and start with "The Heist" on October 23. This will be followed by two more expansions of new villains, suits, and missions on undisclosed dates in November and December. The final parts of "The City That Never Sleeps" will be titled "Turf Wars" and "Silver Lining."

Although "The Heist" was first reported back in April, new details flesh out the story of Black Cat in the DLC. Stevenson confirms that Hardy's appearance in Spider-Man's campaign will lead to a starring role in "The Heist":

"As you play the base game, you’ll realize that Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, is back in town and she’s leaving clues around town to toy with Spider-Man. In Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist, she finally reveals herself."

As well as going head-to-head with the infamous cat burglar, "The Heist" will also include three new suits for the wall-crawling hero to try on. Although there are no further details on what fans can expect from either "Turf Wars" or "Silver Lining," the name of the latter could have something to do with Silver Sable and her confirmed part in the main campaign.

Available to purchase from today on the PlayStation Store, all three "The City That Never Sleeps" add-ons can be bought for $24.99 USD MSRP or separately for $9.99 USD MSRP. Those who haven't pre-ordered Spider-Man can pick up the Digital Deluxe Edition - featuring all three DLCs - for  $79.99 USD MSRP. Insomniac promises to release content without the use of microtransactions, but it is unclear if "The City That Never Sleeps" will be the only post-launch content to grace Spider-Man. Ultimately, gamers will have to wait a little longer until Spider-Man's official release on September 7.
