Update: The new content for Spider-Man is two Fantastic Four-related costumes.
Marvel's Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 might be getting Fantastic Four related content soon. The most recent video game featuring everyone's favorite web-slinger allows players to swing through New York while going up against the villain Mister Negative.
Since the game was released in September 2018, most diehard fans have likely beaten the story mode all the way through already. Even after the story is completed, gamers have the option to beat other side missions and clean up the streets of New York City by stopping a variety of crimes. Insomniac Games have kept gamers hooked by breaking up the DLC called The City That Never Sleeps into three separate entries called The Heist, Turf Wars, and Silver Lining. All three of these come with a new story and three new Spidey-suits, and it appears that gamers might be getting even more content soon.
According to IGN, Marvel's Ryan Penagos recently revealed that some type of Fantastic Four related content could be coming to Spider-Man PS4 soon. In a live stream, Penagos commented "Something 'fantastic' is coming to Marvel's Spider-Man real soon. I can't tell you anything more right now...but you'll want to keep an eye out for this. It's going to be amazing and fantastic". On top of Penagos comments, Marvel Games also posted on Twitter teasing some type of "fantastic" announcement. Marvel Games' tweet, as well as Insomniac Games' retweet, can be seen below.
Insomniac Games has seen massive success with Marvel's Spider-Man. The title quickly grew to become PlayStation's fastest selling game ever, and it was recently reported that over 9 million copies of Spider-Man have been sold so far. Insomniac Games have been able to keep their customers happy, and another update with new content will likely only add to their success. While Fantastic Four content seems to be coming to Spider-Man soon, it's anybody's guess what it could be.
Since the third and final entry of The City That Never Sleeps DLC was recently released, the Fantastic Four content likely won't include another playable story. While it hasn't been confirmed, the most plausible answer is that Insomniac Games will just add in another Spidey-suit, much like they did around the holidays when they finally released the Sam Raimi Spider-Man suit. This leaves a few suit options, including the Bombastic Bag-Man suit that first appeared in The Amazing Spiderman Vol. 1 #258. Another option could be the white and black Future Foundation Spidey-Suit. Regardless of what's introduced to the game next, any additional content will likely be welcomed with open arms by Spider-Man fans.
