Marvel is continuing to hype up the upcoming Spider-Man PS4 game, and the latest promotion comes in the form of a gorgeous new piece of art. The artwork shows a costumed Peter Parker traversing through the New York City streets. Credited for the beautiful image is veteran Marvel cover artist Alexander Lozano.

Developed by Ratchet & Clank studio Insomniac Games, the upcoming Spidey game will be the first triple-A release since Marvel Entertainment launched their own Marvel Games division. Simply titled Marvel's Spider-Man, the game is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and is even being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It's also set to be one of the four pillars of next month's PlayStation E3 2018 showcase, and it's currently the highlight of the company's back half of the year.

The new Spider-Man PS4 art from artist Alexander Lozano will be used as cover art for European magazines, according to Marvel Games executive creative director Bill Rosemann. Lozano also took to Twitter to talk about the piece that was commissioned by Insomniac, PlayStation, and Marvel Games. Lozano said: "I'm really excited to be part of such a great title. Thank you to Marvel, Insomniac Games and Sony PlayStation for this opportunity to create an art piece for Marvel's Spider-Man. This game looks incredible!" Take a look:

This new artwork looks absolutely stunning, especially up close thanks to Alexander Lozano's incredible attention to detail. Marvel going out of their way to commission one of their best artists to produce this promotional piece is just further proof that the upcoming Spider-Man PS4 game is a huge deal for Marvel Games - and for Sony this year. It's clear that they view this as the start of a new future for them, and that they want their licensed games to be thought of in the same vein as Marvel films.

With Spider-Man's September release date rapidly approaching, developer Insomniac Games has been slowly revealing more and more about the upcoming action game. Additional information will be shown at Sony's E3 2018 press conference in just a few weeks. But, so far, the developer has shown off a reinvented villain in Shocker, discussed how Rocksteady Games' Batman: Arkham Asylum series has impacted development, and talked about how it could potentially be the start of an official Marvel Games universe, which might include the upcoming Avengers game being developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, as well as a rumored Guardians of the Galaxy title. But first, everyone involved is heavily invested in making sure Spider-Man's latest video game offering is a success.
