Peter Parker and Matt Murdock were seen together for the first time in Spider-Man: No Way Home, setting up a moment that needs to be paid off in the MCU's Phase 6. After portraying the Devil of Hell's Kitchen on Marvel Television's Daredevil series, Charlie Cox made the move to the MCU proper for Spider-Man: No Way Home, debuting as Peter Parker's lawyer after his identity is revealed to the world. Unbeknownst to Peter, Aunt May, and Happy Hogan, the mysterious lawyer with quick reflexes actually operates as the vigilante superhero, Daredevil, who made his official MCU debut during She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

In Marvel Comics, Spider-Man and Daredevil have come together several times to protect the citizens of New York, an appropriate pairing as both operate as street-level heroes. This made Spider-Man: No Way Home the perfect place to bring Charlie Cox's Daredevil into the MCU, and begin to lay the foundations for a brilliant partnership in future MCU projects. No Way Home teased Murdock's heroism, especially when he was shown to catch a thrown brick despite being blind, but the MCU's Phase 5 will develop this in Daredevil: Born Again. Even so, viewers will probably have to wait for Phase 6 to see a team-up of Spider-Man and Daredevil.

Why Only Phase 6 Can Show Peter Realizing Matt Murdock's Secret

While Daredevil will be featured prominently during the MCU's Phase 5 thanks to his monumental 18-episode solo series, Daredevil: Born Again, it's unlikely that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will make an appearance alongside the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Born Again will focus on Matt Murdock's life, both as a lawyer and as a vigilante, so muddying the waters with other Avengers might be the wrong choice. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige revealed that the story has already been worked out for Spider-Man 4 in the MCU, and this could be assumed to release in Phase 6.

This means that it's possible that Spider-Man 4 in the MCU's Phase 6 could see Peter Parker learn his new lawyer's superhero identity, especially now that Peter is alone in New York, the perfect person for him to confide in may be someone that he knows has abilities and operates on a smaller-scale: enter Daredevil. If not in Spider-Man 4, the Multiverse Saga's climactic Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars will surely reveal to Peter who Matt Murdock actually is, though the reveal coming during these epic projects could pose a separate problem for Marvel Studios.

The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars are building up to be adventures on a larger scale than Infinity War and Endgame, which could bring many Marvel superheroes from various realities into the MCU. These projects must see Spider-Man and Daredevil fight alongside each other, but this may not be the best place to reveal to Peter that Murdock is actually Daredevil. The fact that the Multiverse Saga's Avengers films are set to be so huge means that smaller, more intimate moments might get ignored, so the tease of Murdock's Daredevil identity in Spider-Man: No Way Home wouldn't get the payoff it deserves in the MCU Phase 6 project.
