The latest piece of concept art for Spider-Man: Homecoming puts the web slinger in a Christmas-y setting. This holiday season has proven to be a big one for the House of Mouse, with Disney passing the $6 billion mark at the worldwide box office. Aside from the success of buying out 20th Century Fox and gaining a number of major assets in the process, Disney has had some huge hits this year across its various studios. Star Wars: The Last Jedi has hit $800 million globally, ending 2017 on a high note for the company - but Marvel has played a big role too.

In between the monumental success of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel finally gave us the solo debut of the rebooted Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Though it didn't count towards Disney's stellar year at the box office (as all profits went to Sony), it still marked a win for them and allowed Marvel to cash in on the merchandising side. And aside from Kevin Feige planning the Aunt May scene for years, the movie was noteworthy for opening up a whole new batch of characters for the MCU to use. So in celebration of just how much the film meant creatively and financially this year, the latest look back brings in some Christmas cheer.

Ryan Meinerding shared a new piece of concept art for Spider-Man: Homecoming, putting the New York-native amongst some idyllic looking woods draped in twinkling lights. Check it out:

The year has also been a big one for Meinerding, as his art has been all over the Internet. He shared an alternate look at Spider-Man earlier this year, and also helped bring to life Feige's dream of a Collector/Grandmaster team-up. His biggest moment, however, came from the 3-part Avengers: Infinity War poster he created for Comic-Con International in San Diego this past summer.

Long before the Avengers: Infinity War teaser trailer, the poster provided us with our first look at bearded Cap, blonde Widow, and the Black Order. It also confirmed that Spidey will indeed suit up in the costume Tony Stark unveiled at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Fans had little doubt the costume would reappear given its similarities to suits from the comics and the detail that went into it, and it looks as if the threat of Thanos is enough for Peter to take Stark up on his offer.

With this new look back at Spidey's first solo outing in the MCU, fans are eager to learn what the future will hold for Peter Parker. We know he'll be getting a trilogy of movies, starting with a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming just two months after Avengers 4. But with that film bringing to a head the entire MCU to date, it's unknown when new (and potentially spoiler-y) info will emerge about the Homecoming sequel. Until then, fans will just have to rewatch Spider-Man: Homecoming.
