The latest Spider-Man: Far From Home TV spot features all the confirmed suits for the wall-crawling hero in the new film. In two weeks, the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film arrives, offering fans their first glimpse at the world post-Avengers: Endgame. Centering on Peter Parker (Tom Holland) as he deals with the loss of his mentor, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), the narrative takes the young hero on an adventure across the pond alongside his schoolmates. However, what was supposed to be a fun recreational trip gets hijacked by Nick Fury (Sam Jackson), who recruits him for a mysterious mission. The former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduces Spider-Man to Quentin Beck aka Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) - supposedly a hero from another dimension who needs help tackling the Elementals.
Box office projections are looking great for the Jon Watts-directed film, as it's currently tracking for a $150 million opening weekend. However, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures continue to ramp up the marketing machine for the flick, rolling out a series of TV spots giving fans new snippets of what to expect in Far From Home. The latest of these highlights all the battle suits Peter will wear during his upcoming mission.
Introduced by a short message from Tom Holland is a brand new Far From Home TV spot released in partnership with IGN (shared on YouTube via Comic Network). The clip lists down the "original suit," which is the first costume Stark made for Peter in Captain America: Civil War; the "new suit," which is the Iron-Spider variation that he sported in Avengers: Infinity War; and the two upcoming armors that will debut in the movie. The "newer suit" which is also known as the Stealth Suit is a stripped down costume provided by Fury; and finally, the "newest suit," which Peter makes himself in Stark's secret workshop. The video ends with him swinging in New York with MJ (Zendaya). Watch it below.
Far From Home will be the first MCU film to feature Peter actually creating his suit. He had a make-shift one when Stark first met him, but it was barely featured - only during the final battle of Spider-Man: Homecoming. As cool as it is seeing him don these more high-tech variations, some aren't exactly thrilled that this current iteration of the character has been sporting costumes made by someone else. If anything, he's known for ingenuity, and comic book readers would want to see his creative side in these films. While he makes his own web shooters, seeing him design his own suit and eventually sport it would be great, and Far From Home is delivering on that missing element.
Aside from Peter finally creating his own battle armor, each suit that will appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home will fit nicely into the movie's narrative. His existing ones are obviously from Stark, and wearing them reinforces the pressure on him to step up and be worthy of his mentor's trust in him. As he gets to Europe, he's handed a basic suit that will force him to rely on his actual skills rather than getting the assist from his high-tech costumes. And finally, as he comes to terms with his identity as a hero, he creates and wears his own suit.
