This post contains MASSIVE SPOILERS for Avengers: Endgame

The next trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home will reportedly come with an Avengers: Endgame spoiler warning. Peter Parker's second solo adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has always been in a rather fascinating place from a marketing perspective. Spider-Man was one of the billions dusted out of existence during the Decimation in Avengers: Infinity War, so the mere existence of another standalone film for the character all but confirmed he'd return amongst the living at some point. Sure enough, when Earth's Mightiest Heroes undid the effects of Thanos' snap, Peter (along with several others) came back.

It goes without saying that Endgame presents its own set of challenges in regards to promoting Far From Home. Not only was Peter revived, he lost a mentor when Tony Stark sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos once and for all. While Sony was able to dance around these plot points for the first Far From Home teaser released earlier this year, they were never going to avoid the connections forever. The advertising campaign has now reached a point where materials need to dive a little deeper into the story, which means the next Spider-Man trailer will have a special warning.

According to Trailer Track, the new Far From Home trailer will have a short intro from Tom Holland, where he tells viewers the preview includes Endgame spoilers. This is somewhat amusing, seeing that Holland himself has a penchant for spoiling MCU details in interviews and on social media.

It's nice of Sony and Marvel to include this warning in the Far From Home trailer. While Endgame rewrote the box office record books with an unprecedented $1.2 billion opening weekend, there are probably still some people who haven't gotten a chance to see it yet. Marvel ran a deliberate, secretive Endgame marketing campaign in order to preserve the film's twists and surprises, so it would be a shame if someone got spoiled unsuspectingly by watching a trailer for a different movie. At the same time, Joe and Anthony Russo cautioned the Endgame spoiler ban lifts on Monday, May 6, so those yet to see the Infinity Saga's culminating chapter may want to make plans to do so this weekend. That way, there will be nothing to worry about once the next wave of Spider-Man advertising revs up.

In addition to Tony's death, the Far From Home trailer will likely cover the fact that Peter (and most of his classmates) disappeared for five years and woke up in a drastically changed world. Perhaps that's why Peter isn't keen on bringing his Spider-Man suit on his European vacation (he just wants to take a mental break), but there's no rest for the weary. Thanos may be gone, but The Elementals have arrived to cause trouble, and Your Friendly Neighborhood will be called upon to swing into action - whether he wants to or not.
