Deadpool and Spider-Man aren't in the same universe right now, but Spider-Man: Far From Home could help change that. Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was born, Marvel had to sell the big screen rights to many different characters in the '90s to avoid bankruptcy. Fox purchased the X-Men and Fantastic Four, Sony acquired Spider-Man and his supporting characters and villains, and other studios picked up additional rights.

This has drastically changed thanks to the success Marvel Studios has experienced in the last eleven years through the MCU. They brokered a deal with Sony to share Spider-Man and integrate him into their world, and Tom Holland has already played the teenage Peter Parker in four films. A significant change is on the horizon, too, as Disney bought Fox earlier this year, which will bring the X-Men and Fantastic Four into the MCU eventually.

While Marvel Studios is just now beginning to figure out what they can do with these characters, one pairing that some want to see is Holland's web-slinger paired up with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, who is expected to be the lone holdover from the Fox cast. Recent rumors said that this could happen in the third solo film for Holland's iteration of the character, but it may be his second, Spider-Man: Far From Home, that can help set this up. Screen Rant's newest video - featured at the top of this post - explores how this could be.

Deadpool's fourth-wall-breaking tendencies could be used to explain his sudden new shared universe, but Spider-Man: Far From Home going all-in on the multiverse could be the real answer. Thanos' snap ripping a hole in our reality will be used to explain how the Elementals and Mysterio get to the main MCU Earth. In the future, this same event - or even one of the other snaps - could be used as the basis for how Deadpool left his reality and joined the prime one that the MCU operates in.

Bringing Deadpool into the MCU using the multiverse is one possible way that Marvel Studios could do this, but they have yet to confirm whether or not he'll even make this journey. His R-rated style does not totally mesh with the tone the MCU has established, so Disney and Marvel could decide to leave him in his own universe. If this is not what they choose to do, and Deadpool does join the MCU, then the multiverse is one of the best explanations for how it could happen, and Spider-Man: Far From Home will be partially responsible if this route is taken.
