Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Reportedly Coming This Week [Updated]

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home is reportedly set to premiere later this week. After a banner 2018 that saw the franchise soar past the $17 billion mark at the global box office, 2019 is shaping up to be an even bigger year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All three of their films on deck - Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and Far From Home - are highly anticipated for their own set of reasons, and fans are growing impatient for any looks they can get their hands on. While there's still no official word on the Avengers 4 trailer, viewers were recently treated to a new look at Captain Marvel.

Far From Home is a movie of key interest, especially since it's said to take place just minutes after Avengers 4 and kick off the next phase of the MCU. Many are curious to see how the story for that film comes together, especially considering the shocking ending of Infinity War. Fortunately, it won't be much longer until audiences have some idea what director Jon Watts has up his sleeve, as Spider-Man: Far From Home's first trailer looks to release very soon.

According to Daniel RPK of Super Bro Movies, the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home will debut this week. No date was provided. Additionally, a Collider report followed that up by saying the trailer will premiere on Saturday, December 8 during Sony's panel at Comic-Con Experience in San Paulo, Brazil - then be released online after. Update: The Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer has been rated. Check out Daniel's tweet in the space below:

If this pans out, it means Far From Home is following the Spider-Man: Homecoming marketing playbook. The first trailer for the 2017 blockbuster hit the scene in December 2016, playing in front of the biggest holiday releases. Obviously, Sony would be keen on replicating that strategy, especially since there are some heavy-hitters opening later this month. In particular, the studio would probably like to have some Far From Home footage to attach to animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is currently enjoying very strong buzz. Tentpoles like Aquaman and Bumblebee will also appeal to a similar demographic, making December the ideal window for a Spider-Man trailer launch.

It'll be interesting to see how Sony handles Far From Home promotion. As stated above, Peter was one of the many heroes killed in Infinity War, and though it's largely expected he'll come back from the dead, Marvel would prefer to keep as many secrets preserved as possible. Sony, of course, has a rather infamous history of spoiling key scenes and details in their trailers, presenting a bit of a conundrum for all parties involved. Marvel (even by their standards) has kept Avengers 4 extremely close to the chest, and it would be a shame if something was revealed in a trailer for a movie that doesn't come out for seven more months.
