Spider-Man 3 set images confirm that the cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home will still factor in the upcoming Marvel Studios/Sony collaboration. Filming for the project has been in full swing for quite a while now, with production mainly taking place in Atlanta. Given that, photos have made their way online giving a sense about what to expect from the threequel — the latest of which reveals that the fallout of Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) fight with Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) will still be tackled in the movie.

As the final film in the Infinity Saga, Far From Home ended with a clear set-up for its follow-up. But the original plan seemed to have changed since the movie was released with a string of casting additions. Jamie Foxx is reportedly reprising Max Dillon aka Electro from 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with previous actors who played the role like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are also rumored to appear, as well as Charlie Cox's version of Matthew Murdock/Daredevil. Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch is also boarding the project as Doctor Stephen Strange, with Spider-Man 3 confirmed to connect to Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

New photos from the set of Spider-Man 3 were posted on Twitter by fan-account @cosmic_marvel, though they come from a video on Atlanta Filming's Instagram. The images show a close-up shot of a bulletin board filled with flyers; one of them features an illustration of Mysterio with the text "I BELIEVE." Elsewhere on the board is another notice that pushes back on this with calls for citizens to defend Spidey. Check out the images below:

Jon Watts is back behind the camera for the third solo Spider-Man movie in the MCU, so it's an easier transition between movies. Aside from Watts, only Joe and Anthony Russo have handled the web-slinging hero in the MCU, which is why there's a clear throughline with the character's arc in the franchise thus far. While it makes sense that the threequel tackles the game-changing ending of Far From Home, this raises concerns that the Spider-Man 3 might be overstuffed, trying to tackle more plot threads than it can handle. Before news that the upcoming film will be a cornerstone of MCU's multiverse, there was an assumption that it would solely be about the ramifications of Spider-Man's real identity being revealed and Peter being framed for the death of Mysterio.

Regardless of how Marvel Studios balances all the moving parts of Spider-Man 3, these new set images offer an idea of how the public reacts to Mysterio's revelation. While this situation will definitely be difficult for Peter, especially without Iron Man providing protection for him, the fact that he is getting some support from citizens is a silver lining. All that being said, this may not be the most pressing issue that Spider-Man has to face with multiverse-related concerns also coming in.
