According to a new rumor, all of the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 suits will have symbiote variants. As of right now, it hasn't been confirmed whether or not Peter Parker will don the black suit in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but it does seem like there's a strong chance given Venom is one of the antagonists. Peter's struggle with the symbiote is one of the most defining Spider-Man storylines, so it only makes sense for Insomniac to tackle it at some point.

Insomniac revealed the first trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 with Venom and Kraven being teased as the primary villains. Those two characters are usually found in some of Spidey's darker stories, so it seems like Insomniac is preparing to create a more emotional and edgy story in comparison to the last two games. As of right now, the developer is staying mum on what the game is actually about, but more details are sure to follow in 2022.

However, a new rumor from FandomWire's Elijah Boxhill suggests that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will allow players to wear a symbiote version of every suit. Given how big of a role the suits played in the first game, this rumor makes sense. If a big portion of the game revolves around a black-suited Spider-Man, it would be rather restrictive to only let players wear one suit. As always, this is just a rumor right now. Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Venom may not relinquish the symbiote to Peter Parker at all, but it would be strange to omit that element, especially given the trailer featured a black and white spider symbol.

Insomniac is known for changing up the Spider-Man formula, however. Perhaps instead of Peter, Miles will get the black suit. Only time will tell how Insomniac will handle this particular storyline, but there's a lot of interesting directions to go with it. Given the relationship between Peter and Miles, having either one of them getting corrupted by the symbiote would make for some compelling drama and allow for a unique clash.

Insomniac has suggested that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will have a dark story, so perhaps making Miles and Peter come to blows after one of them dons the black suit would be an interesting spin on this story. Nonetheless, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will surely be another game for PlayStation and Marvel fans to look forward to. Insomniac hasn't confirmed when it will show Marvel's Spider-Man 2 next, but with a 2023 release, it's possible more will be revealed this coming summer.
