In a stunning piece of fan art, Spider-Gwen gets a redesign that gives the hero a much more techwear-inspired look. @fatherperiodic shared their take on the web-slinger, which gives Gwen Stacy a new costume which is a departure from her usual outfit. The costume actually fixes a recent problem created by Marvel Comics, as their attempt to provide Miles Morales with a similar look missed the mark.

Spider-Gwen has one of the best-looking costumes in comics, as Robbi Rodriguez, Jason Latour, and Rico Renzi created the perfect spider-suit for the alternate-universe Gwen Stacy. Spider-Gwen's hooded costume was designed to make the character stand out and have readers believe it could be anyone under the mask. The costume quickly became one of the most iconic looks in pop culture, as it's been consistently named one of the best modern designs in comics. In addition, Spider-Gwen's costume has been adapted in several animated television series from Marvel and, most famously, in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film, where the hero co-starred alongside Miles Morales.

Considering how great Spider-Gwen's design is, redesigning the character will always be risky, as there's not much to improve on the character's look. However, @fatherperiodic offered their own redesign of Spider-Gwen, which gives the hero a more casual look - and it rules. The look features Spider-Gwen with a white sweater, tactical sweatpants, and a new pink logo that stands out on a darker top underneath her costume. The redesign looks great and solves a recently created Miles Morales problem in his current ongoing series.

Miles Morales recently received his own techwear-inspired suit in a redesign that's polarized Marvel Comics readers. The look gives Spider-Man a more flowing design, as he wears a baggy sweater that connects with his mask.

The look isn't bad and actually is pretty unique for a web-slinger, but the Spider-Gwen redesign feels like it accomplishes what Miles Morales' new costume tried to do in a more cohesive way. The different elements in Gwen's costume complement each other and make her costume more badass. Meanwhile, Spider-Man's new costume feels far less exciting as a whole - as it feels like it doesn't take its concept far enough.

The Spider-Gwen redesign solves Miles Morales's new Spider-Man costume's big problem by using its techwear elements to create something more cohesive and eye-catching. While Spider-Gwen's iconic costume never needs to be changed, as it's comic book perfection, the fan art redesign proves that the character could look almost as good in other outfits too.
