Spawn Is Taking Over The DC Universe This December

DC no doubt wants to bring as much attention to Batman’s crossover with Spawn as possible. Not only are these four titles getting Spawn-themed variants, but the one-shot itself is getting alternate covers from artists such as Sean Murphy, J. Scott Campbell, Jason Fabok, Jorge Jiménez, and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane. Not only that, DC is re-releasing one of the duo’s first crossovers, Batman/Spawn: War Devil, to help fans prepare for their next meeting. Clearly, DC is hoping to end the year on a bang and wants every part of its universe involved.

Fans went nuts when DC announced its latest and extremely ambitious crossover. The publisher is well aware of the popularity of Batman and Spawn, so it makes sense that it would want to strike while the iron is hot. Adding a series of variants featuring Spawn is a smart way on capitalizing on the event, and shows the confidence that DC has in the crossover. Batman/Spawn is likely to be the comic crossover of the season and the entire DC Universe is coming together to celebrate it this December with extremely killer variant covers.
