Mark Hamill proposes the most ambitious crossover event since Avengers: Endgame by jokingly suggesting he, James Gunn, and Star Trek team up to sue the United States Space Force. As Luke Skywalker, Hamill has long been an iconic figure in the Star Wars franchise, and recent years have only brought more content for him. After returning to play Luke in Disney's sequel trilogy, it looked like Hamill was officially done with playing the iconic Jedi, but last Friday brought the most thrilling surprise of all: Hamill returned to the character for The Mandalorian's season 2 finale, aided by de-aging CGI.

The United States Space Force has been the topic of several online jokes and memes ever since it was officially announced, and its preliminary promotional efforts have done little to stop the mocking. First, the official Space Force logo was dragged for its blatant similarities to the Starfleet insignia from Star Trek, with actor George Takei even asking when the royalties would arrive. The Space Force later insisted it was not a knockoff. Then, just last week, it was revealed the members of Space Force will be called Guardians, which instantly drew comparisons to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.

Guardians director James Gunn already joked about suing the organization, and now Hamill is interested on keeping that ball rolling. On social media, Hamill pointed out that the "Force" portion of Space Force connects to Star Wars, making it another piece of pop culture the organization has seemingly utilized. When one puts it all together - the logo, Guardians, and Force - Hamill thinks action should be taken. "Let's file a 3-way joint lawsuit & really nail these larcenous bastards!" Hamill wrote, definitely in a joking manner. His full tweet can be seen below.

The jokes about Space Force are unlikely to stop any time soon, especially since Netflix's Space Force will return for a second season. It's hard to deny that the real life Space Force has a lot of similarities with some of the most beloved sci-fi properties of today, and that will always leave the door wide open for memes. While Hamill won't be mounting a lawsuit, this is probably the closest fans will ever get to a Star Wars/Star Trek/Guardians of the Galaxy crossover.

At this point one almost wonders what the Space Force uniforms will look like. Could they match Starfleet's ensembles? Or will they perhaps emulate another sci-fi franchise? If they do, expect Hamill to add more people to his "lawsuit". Maybe Space Force was all that was really needed to bring these pop culture heavyweights together.
