Ashley Jacobs from Southern Charm season five is now engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Mike Appel, and we are ready to share all of the fun and romantic details. Prior to her engagement, Ashley was dating former castmate, Thomas Ravenel. The pair were the talk of the season. Ashley really got noticed because she ridiculed Kathryn Dennis's parenting skills on more than one occasion. By the end of the season, the whole cast was against her. They even attacked her during the second part of the reunion.
She and Thomas dated from May 2017 to August 2018, shortly after season five of the Bravo reality series stopped airing. When asked about the breakup of their "dark relationship" by reporters, Ashley tried to stay mum on the situation. She asked the public for privacy as she navigated through a difficult time. However, Thomas took to Twitter to insinuate that Ashley had cheated on him, revealing that he finally understands the lyrics from that "wonderful Chicago tune." The lyrics were, "If she would have been faithful, if she could have been true, then I would have been cheated, I would have never known real love." Ashley immediately denied the allegations.
In March, Ashley announced via her @ashleyjhjacobs Instagram that she and her long-time boyfriend Mike Appel are engaged. In an exclusive interview with People, the couple revealed that Mike (the owner of the Related Garments clothing apparel and the creative agency Nnovate) got down on one knee while the pair were outdoors in Park City. The former reality star told the publication, "After a year and half of dating, we can both agree that this adventure we're on together is just getting started," she said. "We're a great team, and we can't wait for what's ahead! Buckle up!" Ashley and Mike met in 2019 at a summer rooftop party in her hometown of Santa Barbara.
The 35-year-old Ashley, who has been dissed by Naomie Olindo, recalled their first interaction, when she was trying to take a photo of the ocean and Mike interrupted her. He asked, "Would you like me to get a picture with you in it? " Ashley then sparked up a conversation with the 40-year-old. He asked her if she comes to Los Angeles often. She responded, "not often," but quickly realized that the distance was nothing compared to her relationship with Thomas, who is now engaged to Heather Mascoe. Thomas is based in South Carolina. By the end of their conversation, Mike has invited Ashley out to L.A., and the couple has been together ever since. Shortly after they met, Ashley decided to go Instagram official with her new man, sharing a photo of the pair with the caption, "found someone close to my own age!!"
Ashley is engaged and her Southern Charm days are in the past. Ashley's relationship with Thomas was quite volatile and caused a lot of tension between Thomas and Kathryn, who used to be in a relationship.
