Fans were rooting for Southern Charm star Shep Rose and his girlfriend, Taylor Ann Green, but the pair reportedly broke up recently. Shep has been the consummate bachelor of Southern Charm since season 1. While he casually dated many women, fans never saw Shep with a serious girlfriend until Taylor’s appearance in season 7. He attempted to find his forever partner during his 2018 reality dating show, RelationShep. Although he met some serious contenders and even followed Bella Clark to New York City, it ultimately didn’t work between them.
Many Southern Charm fans thought Taylor was a good match for Shep. She seemed to be a calming presence around him and he had previously shared that she was very patient with him, which he admitted he needed. However, Southern Charm season 8 saw the two at odds over Taylor’s pregnancy scare. Shep was visibly relieved that it was a false alarm, but Taylor seemed disappointed and expressed concern over his unwillingness to fully commit to her. During their conversation, Taylor wondered if Shep would remain faithful, which stemmed from a past cheating incident he admitted to during the season 7 reunion.
It seems as if Taylor reached her limits with Shep. According to People, a source confirmed that the couple broke up due to Shep’s inability to remain faithful. The insider revealed, “Shep has a real issue with monogamy and refused to commit to Taylor, telling her that he doesn’t want to be with just one person and change his lifestyle.” Another source added, “She's incredibly hurt, but she knows that she deserves a guy who will fight for her, not one who is so selfish.” The source punctuated the statement by saying that Shep “will regret this.”
Shep previously shared in an interview with Screen Rant that he was planning a future with Taylor and was waiting to upgrade to a bigger house that would allow a comfortable living space for the two of them and his dog, Little Craig. He praised Taylor’s patience and warm heart as one of the reasons he fell for her. While the couple maintained a loving relationship in the first few episodes of Southern Charm season 8, a teaser shows Shep yelling belligerently at Taylor on a golf course. Many fans were alarmed at Shep calling Taylor a “f****** idiot,” but he later insisted that things were fine between them.
With Charleston’s party atmosphere, the Southern Charm cast may find it difficult to maintain a lasting relationship. Kathryn Dennis and the father of her children, Thomas Ravenel, had an infamously turbulent relationship on and off camera. Austen Kroll and his ex-girlfriend Madison LeCroy fought over infidelity on both their parts. Shep claimed in the past that he doesn’t believe in monogamy, but it seemed as if he was finally settling down with Taylor. While Shep and Taylor have yet to confirm their breakup, it looks as if the Southern Charm stars have gone their separate ways.
