Ever since the explosive two-part reunion of Southern Charm season 7, fans have been eagerly awaiting season 8. Season 7 welcomed newcomers John Pringle and Leva Bonaparte. Madison LeCroy, who was introduced as the girlfriend of Austen Kroll in season 6, came back as a full-time cast member for this new season. Meanwhile, Madison and Austen's roller-coaster relationship caused a lot of tension within the group, which came to a head at the reunion. The couple finally called it quits, with Austen touting the show as the main reason. At the reunion, Austen called Madison a "monster," and reliving the season showed that she might've never cared about him. Craig Conover came down on her hard as well for how she treated Austen, calling her "a terrible person."

Kathryn Dennis also came under fire during the reunion for a racially insensitive text she sent to a woman of color that went public. That particular message was addressed on Southern Charm, and even though Kathryn apologized, she faced a lot of repercussions such as being fired as brand ambassador for luxury store Gwynn’s. Fans were also surprised to see her living with her ex, Thomas Ravenel, and she addressed their relationship at the reunion. Kathryn revealed that Thomas was suing her for full custody of their children. Since then, Kathryn lost custody and has supervised visitation every other weekend.

With so much drama left unresolved from last season, fans can’t wait to see how Southern Charm season 8 will unfold. According to Bravo, season 7 newcomers John and Leva are both set to return for season 8. Original cast members Shep Rose, Kathryn, and Craig are in the lineup as well. Austen and Madison are also returning, which will make for a very interesting season. Madison announced her engagement to Brett Randle just after six months of the couple meeting. Brett is a bit of a mystery, as there’s not a lot of information about him online. Thus, it is likely that fans will find out more about him in season 8 of Southern Charm. Craig said he was happy for her while Austen is focusing on the fact that she has a son and that her starting a new life is more important than their contentious history.

Paige DeSorbo of Summer House and Craig have been dating since starring on Winter House together. They live in separate states but make their relationship work by flying out to see each other frequently. Paige hinted that fans will see her make an appearance on Southern Charm. Naomie Olindo, who is Craig's ex-girlfriend left after season 6, is returning as a "friend." Naomie is coming back following her split with ex-boyfriend Metul Shah. Fans will most likely see her dealing with the breakup, and it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic between her, Craig, and Paige plays out.

The cast teased the filming of Southern Charm season 8 with pictures of the group hanging out on their respective Instagram accounts. Madison posted a picture of her hanging out with Patricia Altschul and Naomie. The picture was dated December 18, so the trio was most likely filming a scene in what looks like Patricia’s home. Patricia has been an avid supporter of Madison and urged her to leave Austen for someone better. She pushed her towards John, but nothing came of it other than a mild flirtation. Leva, who is busy running restaurants and being a mother to her son Lamar Jr., confirmed that the filming wrapped in December. Now, Southern Charm season 8 is expected to debut in spring 2022.
