Marcie Hobbs is one of the many new cast members joining Southern Charm season 8. The new season is set to premiere on June 23 with several new faces and some familiar ones as well. Returning a part of the full-time cast are Shep Rose, Craig Conover, Austen Kroll, Kathryn Dennis, and Leva Bonaparte. Taylor Ann Green was promoted to full-time after appearing as Shep's girlfriend last season, along with Venita Aspen. Naomie Olindo, who originally left the series after season 6, also joined as full-time.
Chleb Ravenell and Olivia Flowers are new to Southern Charm but have very close connections to the cast. Chleb dated Kathryn for over a year before their untimely breakup last winter. Olivia is also rumored to be dating Austen, which is a surprise after his romances with some Summer House cast members last year. Nonetheless, Marcie seems like an exciting new addition since she is related to Southern Charm OG Shep.
According to Marcie's BravoTV bio, the new reality star is Shep's younger cousin, who lived all around the world before settling down in Charleston. Before putting her roots down in Charleston, Marcie worked as an actress and a model. Marcie's Twitter account, which seems inactive as she has not posted since 2013, confirms she once lived in Los Angeles, working to get her name in the entertainment industry. However, times have clearly changed for Marcie since. In May 2021, the Southern Charm star got married to her long-time boyfriend, John. Marcie shared photos of her wedding on her Instagram page, with the bride wearing a beautiful strapless gown and the groom sporting a blue tuxedo.
Now that Marcie is married and in Charleston permanently, she decided to make a change in her career. According to her Linkedin, Marcie has been working as a realtor since 2012. While in L.A., Marcie worked in real estate while also pursuing her career in the entertainment industry. However, in 2017, Marcie seemingly made the move to Charleston and continued her real estate career. Besides her bustling career, Marcie also recently became a mother. In December 2021, Marcie welcomed her daughter and first child with her husband, John. Marcie even admitted in a recent Instagram post that she was pregnant with her daughter throughout the filming of Southern Charm season 8.
With less than a month until the premiere of Southern Charm season 8, fans cannot wait to meet Marcie and the rest of the new cast members. Not only does the new season promise a lot of drama, but viewers will get to see Craig's blossoming relationship with Paige DeSorbo. June 23 cannot come soon enough.
