Patricia Altschul of Southern Charm fame still isn't married after almost three years of engagement, and fans are wondering why. Back in 2018, viewers were excited to hear the news that she was engaged to be married to a mystery man described simply as "Mr. C." Now, viewers are wondering what happened. Since Altschul broke the news of their engagement back in season 5, there have been little to no signs of the two moving forward with an actual wedding.
Altschul has always been pretty vocal about her love life with "Mr. C" on her Instagram account. While his identity is still unknown, she's shared that he works in finance and her son told fans that he cares for the planet. While many are left to guess who Mr. C is, Altschul used to leave plenty of hints about the couple's engagement status. Over the course of the past year, Altschul has spoken less and less about the couple's marriage to the point that it's as if it were never on the table at all.
Fans were first surprised by the marriage delay heading into the 6th season. At the time, Bravo sat down with the reality star and asked for an update on the couple. Altschul said, "Things are very, very stable... I'm not going to rush into anything. I'm busy and so is he." Altschul has also shared through social media that her mystery man has been keeping things covert because of his profession as well as the fact that he was not interested in being in the limelight which has led some fans to wonder whether this has caused some friction in the relationship.
In fact, recent reports showed that Altschul had spent at least four months of the recent COVID-19 lockdown apart from Mr. C while holed up at her Charleston mansion dubbed, Jenkins Mikell House. While many couples have chosen to quarantine together, the engaged couple seemed temporarily separated. At this point, the couple's future seems hazier. Still, Altschul has consistently preserved his anonymity and their decision to hold off on marriage.
Meanwhile, fans online have been playing up the possibility of Altschul and her butler Kelcourse marrying. She regularly posts clips with him and the two seem to get along well enough. That being said, Kelcourse has denied the rumors and maintains that it's strictly an employer/employee relationship. Only time will tell what happens with Altschul's marriage and when she'll decide to share the details on Southern Charm.
