After more than three years together, it was confirmed earlier this week that Southern Charm alum Naomie Olindo and her boyfriend, Metul Shah, broke up. The pair began dating in April 2018, shortly after she ended her long-term relationship with Craig Conover. Metul made several appearances during Naomie's last season on the Bravo series, and at the time, fans already had mixed feelings towards him. Even though viewers were happy Naomie was content in her relationship, they did not like the way Metul treated her at times.
However, since she left the show, it seemed Naomie and Metul were growing in their relationship. The former couple headed down to Antigua and Barbuda last month with several of their close friends. They chartered a yacht and seemed to be happy and in love. Naomie even uprooted her life in Charleston to move to New York City for Metul's next step in his journey as a physician; he accepted a fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine College. After discovering Metul cheated on her, Naomie flew back to Charleston to be with her friends and family.
So who is Metul Shah? According to Us Weekly, Metul received his undergrad from Virginia Commonwealth University. He later attended the same university for medical school and graduated in 2017. After eight years of living in Virginia, Metul left the state and moved to Charleston, where he completed his residency. He went to the Medical University of South Carolina along with one of his closest friends. Besides being known as a physician, Metul is also a world traveler. He has traveled to many places with and without Naomie through the years. Some of the places he has visited are United Arab Emirates, France, and Bali.
After completing his residency in Charleston, Metul accepted a fellowship in NYC with Weill Cornell Medical College in October 2020. In July 2021, he and Namoie packed their bags and made the move to NYC. Metul is also super family-oriented. He often shares photos with his parents, as well as his sister, Priyanka. However, it seems he wasn't family-oriented enough to make a full commitment to Naomie. After living in NYC together for less than a month, Naomie discovered Metul had been cheating on her for over a year. According to Deuxmoi, he had been texting with an ex-girlfriend and the two even went on several dates together. Naomie has since addressed the breakup on her Instagram. She admitted there was a "betrayal" and that she apologizes to any who has "stumbled across those terrible messages."
Metul seemed like the perfect guy for Naomie during their time on Southern Charm. They balanced each other out and seemed really happy together. Clearly, Metul wasn't content in their relationship as he began cheating on her less than two years into the romance. Naomie will make a full recovery from the breakup and might make a return to the Bravo series now that she is back in Charleston.
