Kathryn Dennis from Southern Charm began her romance with Thomas Ravenel after meeting him while filming the show, and we've mapped out their whole relationship timeline. At the time, she was only 21 and was attending college in South Carolina. Thomas, who was much older at age 50, won her over. The pair began dating soon after their first meeting in 2014. While several other male cast members were also trying to woo her, she chose Thomas.
Their tumultuous relationship has been depicted throughout seven seasons of Southern Charm. Viewers saw their first meeting, their multiple make-ups and break-ups, the birth of their two children, and their long custody battle. Even though the pair have both moved on and are in separate relationships (Kathryn wasn't told about Thomas' new baby), viewers cannot help but wonder if they will get together again in the future.
First Meeting
The couple met in 2014 and quickly became involved with each other romantically, despite their 30-year age gap. Kathryn saw Thomas as an older man who was stable enough to take care of her. Even though they were madly in love, there were already cracks in their relationship. Kathryn became Thomas's other half and began to take on a lot of his opinions and feelings.
Welcoming Their First Child
After discovering she was pregnant, Kathryn moved in with Thomas right away. At first, the couple was happy to be growing a family together, but the relationship started to deteriorate soon after. Once their first child Kensie was born, Kathryn and her daughter lived in the basement of Thomas' Charleston plantation, according to People. "I was sad, scary, lonely, confused, quarantined, and isolated," she revealed to the publication.
On And Off Relationship
Shortly after their daughter was born, Kathryn and Thomas broke up for the first time. However, in 2015, the pair reunited briefly. The reunion led to the conception of their second child. Soon enough, they welcomed their son, Saint. Thomas then began a relationship with Ashley Jacobs (whom Naomie Olindo has nothing nice to say about). Ashley appeared on Southern Charm season 5. Thomas and Ashley broke up soon after. At the season seven reunion, Kathryn admitted that she and Thomas had spent the night together in January 2020, while she and the kids were staying with him. These two have had trouble staying away from one another, despite their problems.
Custody Battle
Since 2016, Kathryn and Thomas have been entangled in a heated custody battle. She first lost custody in 2016, after she tested positive for marijuana and was sent to rehab. In 2018, Kathryn was awarded joint custody after Thomas was arrested for assault and battery. Kathryn lost custody of the children in April 2021 for undisclosed reasons, with Thomas regaining full custody.
Both Kathryn from Southern Charm and Thomas have moved on with other people since their last hook-up in January 2020. Kathryn has been dating Chleb Ravenell since last summer, while Thomas welcomed a baby boy in July 2020 with his fiancée, Heather Mascoe. The relationship had to come to an end as it was becoming too toxic for Kathryn. Hopefully, they can develop a healthy co-parenting relationship.
