Ashley Jacobs Questions Kathryn's Parenting
During season five of the reality series, Ashley Jacobs, former girlfriend of Thomas, called out Kathryn's parenting skills. When the cast took a trip to Hilton Head with Chelsea Meissner, Ashley and Kathryn got into a massive fight that became the talk of the season. Ashley questioned Kathryn’s parenting skills because she was upset she didn’t get an invite to Saint’s birthday party. Ashley claims she saw the children more than Kathryn did and alleged she fired the nanny. However, Kathryn held her own and did not stoop to Ashley's level.
Kathryn Goes To Rehab
Shortly after Kathryn and Thomas broke up in 2016, she went to rehab after testing positive for marijuana. Not only did she attend rehab in California, but she also lost custody of her two children, Kensie and Saint. The show did not document Kathryn at the facility, but they did follow her recovery. She opened up about her stint in rehab with her costar and friend, Danni Baird. Kathryn spoke about how tough it was to lose her kids after being with them every day for months.
Kathryn Being Called A Racist
Before season seven aired, Kathryn was in the news for using a monkey emoji while feuding with a Black radio show host. The scandal was explained on Southern Charm, which Kathryn expressed her remorse for. However, her costar, Leva Bonaparte, felt Kathryn didn't understand the severity of what she did and was often mean to Leva when Leva was just trying to help her. Kathryn's lack of accountability led to many viewers turning on the long-time cast member.
Her Relationship With Shep
One of the most shocking and memorable Kathryn moments was the revelation of her past with fellow castmate Shep Rose. While viewers were aware they hooked up in season one, they thought it was just a one-time thing. However, during the season five reunion, it was revealed the pair hooked up several times after Kathryn gave birth to her daughter. "After Kensie was born, Shep and I kind of like hooked up again. Actually, since then, a few times," she admitted, adding, "But it never went anywhere. I still play with the idea because I don’t know…we have good sex, whatever. And he’s cute and fun."
Kathryn has become one of the faces of Southern Charm since the series began over seven years ago. Even though she's had some wild moments on the show, they are some of the most memorable.
