John Pringle, a single father involved in the stock market, was a new addition to the cast of Southern Charm who has amassed a fair amount of wealth that would make him an attractive dating prospect. During his first season, he was thrown right into the drama, quickly getting involved in Madison LeCroy and Austen Kroll’s troubled relationship. While the older and wiser member of the cast, Patricia Altschul, encouraged the new relationship, Pringle and LeCroy never moved past flirting.

Southern Charm has had some of the most cast turnovers of any reality show. Past cast members have not had good things to say about the show. Cameran Eubanks, who was on the show for the first six seasons, wrote about her experience in a tell-all memoir. Eubanks called the show “icky" and did not give the impression that she intends to ever return to the series. The frequent cast turnover is what gave Pringle his chance to flaunt his wealth and possibly make even more.

Pringle comes from a family with a long history of successful businessmen. Despite his name, he is not related to the Pringle’s chip company. After college, he became an intern at Man Financial and stayed active in the stock market from then on. He is now an energy trader, meaning he buys and sells energy commodities like oil and gas. He must do well at it because he has an estimated net worth of 1.5 million dollars (via Slice). This ranks him squarely in the middle of the group of rich castmates, with fortunes that go as high as Patricia Altschul’s 20 million dollar net worth.

Unlike other cast members who only moved to Charleston, South Carolina for the sake of the show, John Pringle’s family allegedly has roots in the community. Some viewers have even speculated he could be related to the original owner of the Robert Pringle House, a historic house in Charleston that was owned by a judge in the late 1700s. Established in 1670, Charleston has a long history and inspired the show's focus on “old money,” though few of the cast members actually qualify as either rich or old money.

Whether or not there will be a season eight of Southern Charm has not been announced yet. That also means viewers don’t know who to expect on the next season. John Pringle was not impressed by the drama on the show, but with main cast members earning $25,000 per episode, the draw of easy money may be too strong. While having a 1.5 million dollar net worth might seem like enough money to most people, in the world of Southern Charm, where money is king, how can it ever be enough?
