Original Southern Charm cast member Craig Conover recently spoke about a conversation he had with ex-girlfriend Naomie Olindo following her break up with Metul Shah. Craig and Naomie began their relationship in 2015 after reconnecting at Charleston Fashion Week. The two had been friends for years, running in the same circle of friends, but didn't start dating until many years later. Viewers saw their relationship bloom when Craig moved back to Charleston to move in with Naomie after dating for less than a year.
However, cracks in their relationship began to be evident when Southern Charm season 4 was airing, as Naomie grew increasingly more frustrated with Craig's different business endeavors. The pair tried couple therapy at one point, but it seems like they were not able to get their relationship back on track. After Naomie became a full-time cast member, she began dating Metul Shah, a doctor in Charleston. Naomie and Metul have since called it quits after she caught him cheating on her.
During an episode of Craig's podcast with Austen Kroll, Pillows and Beer, the 32-year-old opened up about a recent conversation he had with Naomie following her recent break up from Metul. "So when all of that went down, obviously she was a big part of my life," Craig said to Austen, adding that he and his former girlfriend recently connected. "We talked on the phone once. One time. Because it’s been three years, four years. (...) With my exes, I feel like I can pick up the phone with them and nothing ever happened. But a lot happened." Austen, who ended his relationship with Madison LeCroy last year, pointed out that Craig and Naomie never had an explosive fight that ended their relationship.
"We never ended it," Craig said with a laugh. "No one actually did. We just one day never talked again. But also guys, don’t freak out. I’m not saying there is a future." While there isn't any drama between Craig and Naomie, there were apparently some issues with Austen. The co-host began the episode by sharing that they haven't been speaking after getting into an argument. Craig giggled and even admitted to talking to his ex about his fight with his best friend. The lawyer then reiterated that he and Namoie are just friends and have no plans on rekindling their relationship. The conversation was completely platonic and nothing romantic. Craig and Naomie were best friends when they were dating, and he was simply checking up on a friend who was hurting.
The break-up was difficult for both Craig and Naomie. However, he was able to get past their differences to console Naomie. The Southern Charm star still cares for his ex but has no plans on getting back together with Naomie any time soon. Maybe one day in the dar future, Craig and Naomie will find their way back to each other.
