Last night, the hit animated satire dreamed up an intense, and politically incorrect (of course), take on this summer's most exciting film with last night's episode, "Insheeption."
"Insheeption" follows Stan who enters counseling in order to help him overcome his "hoarding" addiction. Instead of a normal counseling session, Stan enters Mr. Mackey's memory. Then, things take a turn for the worse.
Here's the official episode teaser (courtesy of Comedy Central):
"When hes sent to the school counselor to talk about his disorder, Stan realizes that hes not the only one who has a problem. When Mr. Mackey and Stan agree to surrender themselves to the hoarding experts, Stan gets a more than a glimpse of what it was like for Mr. Mackey in the 4th grade at South Park Elementary."
There are a number of digs at Inception in the episode but, certainly the most dramatic, occurs around the 11:00 minute mark.
Check out the clip "A Dream Within A Dream" below but keep in mind, it's South Park and is therefore NSFW or younger audiences.
While the "Dream Within A Dream" clip certainly matches the tone of the blockbuster film, it's the clip "A Taco Within A Taco!" that sums up South Park's feelings about the logic behind Inception - as well as gives a not-so-subtle nod to Hans Zimmer's iconic soundtrack.
"Insheeption" isn't the first time that South Park has tackled a Christopher Nolan property - the series spoofed the Dark Knight back in March 2009. The aforementioned Dark Knight/Watchmen spoof episode, "The Coon" was mild in comparison to the shocking finale of "Insheeption" which offers up one of the series' more offensive moments - especially following what was a mostly satirical and laugh-out-loud movie spoof.
Needless to say, while you're waiting for the upcoming Inception DVD/Blu-ray release, you can check out the full "Insheeption" episode over at the show’s official site, South Park Studios. Then come back and let us know your thoughts.
South Park airs every Wednesday @ 10pm on Comedy Central.
