Eric Cartman is a horrible little boy who, no matter how bad he acts up, seems to rarely get punished for his crimes, especially from his poor naive mother.
In contrast, Butter’s Leopold Starch is innocence personified who seems to get punished for every little thing he does (or doesn’t do) by his overbearing parents.
It’s this dynamic that makes the interaction between the two so hysterical. So in this list, we will be taking a look at some of the evil things Cartman has put Butters through over the years. It’s a toxic friendship that has last far longer than it should, and if it keeps being this funny, may it long continue!
Made Him Join The Crack Baby Athletic Association.
Profiting from making babies fight over a ball of crack may be one of the evilest ideas Cartman has come up with, but it ranks low on our list because Butter’s isn’t the only person he suckered into his scheme. Not only is Clyde on board, but believing his Jewish heritage would make him a skilled accountant, Cartman manages to entice mortal enemy Kyle to join the team as well!
Everything is redeemed by the end of the episode, with a little help from Slash (he is real you guys!)
Forced Him To Fake His Death In Order To Infiltrate A Slumber Party
When Eric learns of a mysterious device in possession of the girls that helps them predict the future, the boys' fake Butter’s death by throwing a pig carcass out of a window, then have him return as the new girl in school, Marjorine.
However, Butter’s parents are also deceived by the apparent death. Shortly after the funeral Butter’s father, believing the pig corpse to be his son, buries him in an ancient Indian burial ground.
When Butter’s returns “from the dead” his parents think he is a demon and chain him up in a closet! They even go as far as to murder a saleswoman to feed to their hellish spawn, but all Butters wants is some spaghetti-o's.
Made Him Go On A Show With A Fake Disability
After watching children with deformities be given gifts on the TV show Maury, the boys hatch a plan and get a couple of Sci-Fi geeks to stick a pair of balls on Butter’s chin. The plan works, but Butter’s prize is a ticket for himself to go to the largest miniature golf course in the world! Angry that he got nothing for himself, Cartman gets himself booked for the show as an “out of control” kid.
Butter’s newfound union of deformity friends foil Cartman’s plans once again, so Cartman rips Butter’s balls off his face in order to expose him. However, this backfires on Cartman and he is chased off by the union, believing he caused physical harm to Butters. It looks like Butters would get out of this one unscathed, however, as usual, his parents are there to ground him!
Haunted Him
After committing the ultimate sin of eating all skin off a bucket of fried chicken before anyone else gets a chance, the boys decide to start ignoring Cartman to teach him a lesson. All this does is make Cartman believe he is dead, and as Butters isn’t part of the ignore plan, Eric thinks he is the only one who can see his spirit! However, this ends up putting Butters in a mental institution, where he is subject to a series of horrid mental (and anal) testing.
Convinced Him He Was His New Robot Best Friend.
In order to try and get back an embarrassing tape from Butters, Cartman dresses himself up as a robot called Awesom-O, and deceives Butters into being his new best friend. Cartman’s plan isn’t as simple as he hoped, and Eric ends up going on an adventure to Hollywood, the military and beyond! One of the few times Eric gets what he deserves, and maybe a little bit more, being mistaken for a “pleasure bot” and having the endure the humiliation of a public screening of the video anyway!
Abused him while he was sleeping
Cartman likes to bully and humiliate Butters even if there isn’t something to gain from it, however thanks to his stupidity it sometimes backfires on him. At a sleepover, while Butters is sleeping, Cartman takes a photo of himself with his friend's weiner in his mouth in order to tease him for being gay. After the boys inform Eric that the picture only really shows that Cartman is gay, Cartman tries to hatch a scheme to reverse what he has done…
Tried to Trick Him To Put His Weiner In His Mouth
In the same episode, Cartman later blindfolds Butters and tells him to open his mouth for a surprise, in a plan to pop his weiner in and make him the one who is gay (at least that's how it works in Cartman's head).
Luckily, Butters's parents walk in before the act can be completed. Unlucky this results in Butters's parents sending him away to a camp for confused little boys, only making Butters more confused in the process!
Convinced Him He Was Stuck In Virtual Reality
After making a crude homemade Oculus Rift device, Cartman once again tries to humiliate Butters by convincing him he is in virtual reality, wherein reality reality, Butters is just running about the school acting insane. Things go too far when Butters, believing his in a virtual world, punches his dad in the balls, steals a car and gets stabbed after punching a prostitute! At least that is what seems to happen, as the episode goes on the lines between reality and fantasy get more and more blurred…
Forced Him To Shoot Innocent People
After watching the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Cartman becomes convinced it is only a matter of time before the Chinese take over the United States, so he enlists the help of Butters and the two head off to a Chinese restaurant to learn about their plans.
Things quickly go south, and the boys end up taking the restaurant hostage. Cartman tells Butters to shoot a man who is trying to escape, but luckily (or unluckily) the shot isn’t fatal and Butters just ends up shooting him in the penis. Later, Cartman once again tells Butters to fire a warning shot, and once again Butters ends up hitting someone in the groin area.
Kidnapped Him And Convinced Him The World Was Ending
It’s hard to judge what the most dastardly deed Cartman has done to Butters, but this one is pretty nasty. Cartman is outraged to discover that Kyle would rather take Butters along with the rest of the gang to Casa Bonita for his birthday rather than himself. In an effort to take his place, Cartman convinces Butters that a meteorite is on its way to hit the earth and hides him in a bomb shelter.
Instead of changing his plans, Kyle just postpones the trip forcing Eric to mess with Butters's head even longer, locking him in an abandoned fridge and pretending to be eaten by a cannibal!
Butters escapes the fridge and finds himself at the city dump. Believing this to be a post-apocalyptic wasteland, he tries to rebuild society with a junkyard dog as his only companion.
