Sons Of Anarchy is considered by some as one of the greatest TV offerings to never win an Emmy. Fans of the series are generally content with how events unfolded throughout the violence-packed seven seasons. However, a couple of people are dissatisfied with specific aspects of the Kurt Sutter masterpiece, and there is no place where this is more evident than on Reddit.

Despite the fact that the FX series ended six years ago, discussions about it are still going on in online forums. Viewer dissatisfaction mostly stems from how specific characters developed or how certain subplots were written. The opinions are guaranteed to cause a smirk on the faces of the show's staunch fans. Here are the most unpopular views about the SAMCRO world on Reddit.

Jax Shouldn't Have Killed Gemma

Gemma is arguably the most hated character. She causes the biggest and most senseless gang war in California after killing Tara by lying that the Chinese are responsible for the murder. It's also hard to forgive her for the violent manner in which she kills Tara. A carving fork? Not to forget that she is also complicit in JT's death among many other sins.

Despite all that, Reddit user x339 feels that Jax should have refrained from killing her. Another user sheephead12314 supports this by saying that Gemma suffered a lot, thus Jax should have had pity on her. She was sexually assaulted, one of her sons died, and she also witnessed her lover (Clay) get brutally murdered. Most importantly, Jax ought to have spared her because she was his mother.

The Theme Song Was Terrible

Sons Of Anarchy (2014)

The words and guitar tones in Sons Of Anarchy's theme song "This Life" are unforgettable but user L3sPau1 is of the opinion that nothing about the intro music was exciting. What makes this opinion even more unpopular is that the theme song received an Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Main Title Theme Music" back in 2009.

The song was written by showrunner Kurt Sutter in collaboration with record producer Bob Thiele Jr., singer-songwriter Curtis Stigers, and Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner. "This Life" was a call-to-action for many fans of the show as it indirectly asked them to drop everything because the SAMCRO bikers were about to get on screen.

Jax and Tara Were A Bad Couple

Every relationship in the show is complicated, except that of Tig and Venus. But no matter how often Jax and Tara fight over his infidelities or his hesitation to leave Charming, the two genuinely love each other. Jax loves Tara so much that he kills his own mother because of what she had done to her.

However, the couple doesn't appeal to user UglyBih66. The particular user states that Tara constantly tries to act like a tough Old Lady but she isn't. In addition to that, Jax has no business being with her because she isn't truly about that life. Well, Tara is the person who almost gets Jax out of a life crime. If she had succeeded, both she and Jax would be alive.

Opie Was Too Misrerable And Boring

Opie is the only SAMCRO member who is good-hearted. He even has trouble killing a man in the first season, forcing Bobby to step up and do it. Reddit user spursgiants feels that Opie's personality makes him boring. The user also doesn't like the fact that Opie is miserable all the time. They conclude by stating that Opie's death is good riddance.

Fans of the show will disagree with this. Opie has every reason to be miserable. At the start of the series, he has just come from a prison stint at the Chino State Penitentiary. Then his wife gets killed by his fellow SAMCRO member. His father is also killed by Clay. Any person would be miserable under these circumstances.

Juice Was Better Looking Than Jax

Now that's unpopular! Actor Charlie Hunnam is always listed among the hottest Hollywood actors by magazines and websites. Most fans also agree that he is indeed good-looking. But Reddit user eyeball-beesting wonders what the fuss about Jackie Boy is all about. According to them, Juice is much hotter.

If this was the case, a good number of crow eaters would be all over Juice. But he never dated or slept with a single person in the entirety of the series. In a world where everyone was fornicating or getting into serious relationships, the suggestion that Juice is hot doesn't hold water. Plenty of female characters had a crush on Jax. Why not Juice?

Clay Should Have Stayed Around For Much Longer

Reddit user Krazyflipz missed Clay in the finale season. The user states that if there was one thing they could have changed about the show, it would have been to give Clay an even longer run.

It can be argued that Clay has it coming. He deserves to meet "Mr. Mayhem," given all the atrocities he committed. The majority of viewers wanted to see him pay. His death makes sense because Jax has to get his revenge. Clay killed his father (JT) as well as Opie's father (Piney).

Gemma And Wayne Unser Should Have Dated

Gemma and Unser in Sons of Anarchy

There is no doubt that Wayne Unser loves Gemma. He does all kinds of risky favors for her, hoping she'd surprise him one day with an offer of affection. He even dies for her.

Ghueyzz776 on Reddit feels that Gemma should have dated Unser. That could never have happened because Gemma liked tough and brutal men. Unser was a good guy while Gemma was evil. What Unser really deserved was to finish the series alive, perhaps even recover fully from cancer. Dating Gemma would have been bad for him.

Jax Should Have Gone On The Run

sons of anarchy jax's death

Reddit user Magush9222 is of the opinion that Jack gives up on his life too easily in the final season. Instead of committing suicide by crashing into a truck, Jax ought to have gone on the run. But how long would he have survived? Everyone would have hunted him down, from August Marks' men to the members of Jury's charter.

The majority of fans agree that the show's ending was just perfect. Like Hamlet, a tragedy needed to happen. The hero had to die. There had to be lessons: if you don't quit early enough, the consequences will be severe. Keeping Jax alive would have made for a disappointing ending like that of The Sopranos.

Wendy Shouldn't Have Gotten Custody Of The Kids

Jax and Wendy

At the tail end of Season 7, Jax leaves his children with Wendy, knowing he plans to kill himself. For the first time, he tells Abel that Wendy is his real mommy. Reddit user Slowmanager4948 hates this plotline. The user feels that Wendy didn't deserve to be left with the children because she was too unstable. Instead, Jax ought to have looked for one of his relatives (he must have had aunties, uncles or cousins) and left the kids with them.

Such a decision would have been unfair to Wendy. She turns her life around and stops using drugs. She genuinely loves Jax and the kids too. Despite her not-so-pleasant past, there is no one more suited to take over parenting duties than her.

The Show Was A Slow Burn

Charming Police Chief Wayne Unser chats with SAMCRO President Clay Morrow

A Breaking Bad fan on Reddit called Colley619 has used the words "slow" and "boring" to describe Sons Of Anarchy. The user quit watching the show after the first two seasons, citing a lack of action. That's strange, given that SAMCRO members provide way more action than Walter White and company.

There is a shootout or a chase scene in each episode of Sons Of Anarchy. Events unfold quite quickly. Breaking Bad is obviously the better show but the action scenes in it are way less than those in the FX biker series.
