Alexander "Tig" Trager was one of the most influential bikers in Sons Of Anarchy. He appeared in all but one episode of the FX series. By the end of the series, he had risen to the position of Vice President of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original (SAMCRO). Previously, he held the position of Seargent-At-Arms.

Chibs was also one of the club's most violent members. He was loyal to Clay, too, for a long time since he had known him since they were young. But, while Chig provided plenty of entertaining moments, he kept on getting worse and worse throughout the show. Here is how that happened.

Psychotic Outbursts

Sons of Anarchy's Tig and Kozik

In the first season, two Mexican prostitutes were killed after the Mayans blew up a weapons storage warehouse that they were sleeping in. It was revealed that Tig had been sleeping with the two women and he had offered them shelter at the warehouse.

Since Tig's DNA was on their bodies, the club tried to figure out how to handle the situation to prevent the police from linking the crime to him. Interestingly, Tig suggested that they should clean the wombs of the dead prostitutes with bleach. This shocked even Clay who remarked: "What kinda nasty shit did your mama do to you?" Later on, Tig shocked everyone again by biting someone's ear during a brawl. In the season two episode "The Culling," he also bit a member of A.J Weston's gang in the face.

Necrophilia

Sons of Anarchy Tig trips on mushrooms

Tig and Clay broke into a morgue to steal bodies and prevent police from identifying them in the season one episode "Old Bones." While at the morgue, Tig confessed that he enjoyed having sex with corpses.

This was surprising because, by the time he was saying this, he had already had two sexual encounters, and, in both, he had at least two women at a go. It was clear that he was a sex addict, but having sex with corpses was more than spooky for someone who seemed to have some boundaries. He seemed very surprised too when Clay told him he has never tried such a thing.

Rash Decisions

After the ATF framed Opie to make it look like he was ratting on SAMCRO, it was up to the club to determine what to do to him. However, when Tig found a microphone and recording device in Opie's phone, he and Clay decided that they were going to kill him without telling the club.

Right after a party, Tig followed Opie, not knowing that he had exchanged cars with his wife Donna. He thus ended up killing Donna, thinking it was Opie in the car. Clay had also called him to try and call off the hit, but he had left his phone behind.

Desiring Gemma

Sons of Anarchy Tig and Gemma

Tig was a big admirer of Gemma from the first season. He just loved how tough she was. But, since Clay was his best friend, he should have buried all the thoughts he had of her. That didn't happen. He kept om coveting her until the two almost betrayed Clay.

In the second season, he was shown looking at her more suggestively on several occasions. When he caught her leaving the shower once, she invited him on and the two almost made love.

Accidental Murders

Tig accidentally kills Donna in Sons Of Anarchy

The accidental death of Donna should have served as a reality check to Tig, but, sadly it didn't. He still ended up killing Damon Pope's daughter Veronica by accident. This time, his carelessness cost him.

Chibs thought Laroy Wayne had murdered Clay, so he attempted to run him down right outside a restaurant. He ended up hitting Veronica instead. Damon Pope retaliated by throwing Tig's daughter in a pit and lighting her up with gasoline. All this was done while Tig watched helplessly.

Remorse

Tig was generally tough, but, after Donna's death, he wasn't himself for a while. He became completely remorseful and reached out to Opie to comfort him. He told him how he lost a girlfriend too once.

In the episode titled "Balm," Tig was also seen eating hallucinogenic mushrooms and almost crying in the process. He was later seen alone in a field where he was shedding tears and apologizing to a doll. The doll was a symbol for Donna.

Disturbing Killings

Tig couldn't just kill people in a normal way. He had to make a show and sometimes it was a bit too disturbing. For example, he drowned the Persian porn director Kia “Straw” Ghanezi in a tab filled with urine. Straw had threatened to include Tig’s only surviving daughter, Fawn, in one of his adult movies.

Tig murdered the man then disposed of his body. He also made sure to transport the body using the same cage that the director used to keep the women he worked with inside. As if that wasn't enough, he peed on the corpse before dumping it in the bay.

Aiding Clay

Clay was probably the worst president that SAMCRO ever had. He made one terrible decision after another, and Tig was mostly complicit in them. Since the two had been friends since they were young men, Tig didn't see the need to stop him or go against him.

It wasn't until much later that Tig realized Clay was a terrible person. He wasn't treating anyone with respect, including club members and his wife Gemma. But, by the time he realized it, Clay had already done too much damage. Basically, Tig got worse as Clay got worse.

Complicated Love Life

Tig puts his arms around Venus and she holds his hand

Tig was never really the commitment type for most of the series. He would sleep with random prostitutes and crow eaters then forget about them. But, all that changed when he met the transgender prostitute named Venus (Walton Gogins). Tig appeared to really like her, something which other SAMCRO members found surprising.

However, he wasn't so loving towards her. He was often distant, and, when asked about it, he insisted that he had work to do. In the episode titled "Faith & Despondency," she aired out her concerns about his criminal life and the fact that the organization he worked for hated gay and transgender people. His only response was that she'd have to get used to it.

Death Wish

Tig from Sons Of Anarchy

For a man who seemed to have a death wish every time, it is surprising that he was one of the surviving characters when the series ended. Tig always put himself in situations that could turn fatal, like when he made himself get chased around by cops in order to distract them as the sons went to the airport.

And, when Pope demanded the life of a SAMCRO member as revenge for the dead cop and Niner, Tig offered himself as a sacrifice. It turned out Pope didn't want to see him dead. He only wanted to see him in jail.
