Many fans are undoubtedly excited that Sonic the Hedgehog has been kicking Dr. Eggman's robotic butt for three decades as of this June, but now they can win a whole bunch of prizes as part of IDW Publishing's The Sonic 30th Anniversary IDW Comics Sweepstakes.
IDW Publishing is commemorating this major milestone by providing numerous opportunities for fans to win prizes with Grand, Silver and Bronze tiers of winners. All that's needed is to sign up for the IDW newsletter at the IDW Publishing website before June 23rd when winners will be chosen randomly. Those who are already subscribed can still enter to win by submitting their email on the website.
There will be one Grand Prize winner, three Silver Prize winners and 30 Bronze Prize winners. All Bronze, Silver and Grand Prize winners will receive the Sonic 30th Anniversary Special comic book and the first volume of the Sonic the Hedgehog IDW Collection. The Anniversary comic features three stories within the span of 80 pages, where Sonic learns to race a car, speeds across the planet in search of the Chaos Emeralds and takes a back seat to allow Dr. Eggman to shine in “Dr. Eggman’s Birthday.”
Meanwhile, volume one of IDW's collection includes one of the franchise's biggest and boldest mysteries that has yet to be solved, as of issue #40. Dr. Eggman not only disappears in this particular volume, but comes back as a completely different person, assuming the alter ego known as Mr. Tinker, who is kind and loves animals. As a result, Sonic and his friends are forced to discuss some major philosophical questions, such as whether it's right to punish someone who doesn't remember committing the crime.
