While the blue hedgehog's footwear is far from stylish in this latest release of the franchise, SA2's rendition of the supernatural speedster's sneakers was certainly more distinctive with their high-heeled look and upwardly angled toe caps. Of course, these shoes do not add or alter any mechanics in gameplay but only serve as a cosmetic memento of the past title.
To unlock the Sonic Adventure 2 Shoes DLC for free in Sonic Frontiers, players must subscribe to the game's official newsletter. When signing up for this newsletter, players will be asked to select the platform on which they have purchased Sonic Frontiers. If fans choose the wrong platform, the code they receive will be invalid. For example, Nintendo Switch users cannot redeem a code for the Steam platform, or Xbox players will be unable to claim the free reward with a code for PlayStation. Therefore, players should be extra careful to choose the same platform that matches the one on which they play the game.
Unlock Sonic Adventure 2 Shoes for Free in Sonic Frontiers
According to Twitter user Katie - MiniKitty, the Social Media Manager for Sonic Frontiers, players will receive their code for the free Sonic Adventure 2 Shoes DLC after about 1 to 2 days of submission. Those who have yet to subscribe to the newsletter can do so by visiting the game's official website and clicking on the "Newsletter" tab in the upper-right corner of the screen. Next, players must input their email, date of birth, and country in which they reside. Before agreeing to the terms of service, fans will also need to select the platform on which they would like to receive their exclusive in-game content. Katie has also stated that this free offering will last until January 31, 2023, after which players will not be able to receive this DLC.
After receiving and redeeming the code for the free Sonic Adventure 2 Shoes in Sonic Frontiers, players can access their new content by navigating to "Extras" on the main menu screen. This spotlighted option in Sonic Frontiers can be found above "Quit the Game" and below "User Manual." At the top of the Extras selection, players will see Sonic Outfits. Select this item and scroll down until Sonic Adventure 2 Shoes appears. Press confirm and enter the game to appreciate Sonic's new fit in Sonic Frontiers.
