A listing for a Sonic Colors remaster on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One has popped up on the internet, spurring Sonic fans into a frenzy. The remastered Wii game seems to be making a comeback, bringing yet another saga of the classic Sonic franchises to more modern consoles, although why the remake is a generation behind in technology is somewhat strange.Sonic Colors was a platform game by SEGA released on the Nintendo Wii in 2010. The game follows the usual storyline of Sonic and his friends taking on the evil Doctor Eggman who intends on taking over the world once more. The game often switches between side-scrolling and third-person mode, mixing the two camera modes in different levels. Overall the game was given a positive review from both critics and players, selling over two million copies and introducing the Wisp power-ups which have become a central part of the game today.Related: Balan Wonderworld Made The Same Mistake As Sonic BoomThe leak comes from Europe, with a Twitter user named Cybrid101 finding a HD port of Sonic Colors being listed on an online European retail website. The Twitter user states to have found the information on IKSample’s website, a German studio that claims to be working on the German translation for the release. The links to the German game studio posted by Cybrid101 as their source have since gone down. The game was also previously listed on French retailer SoGamely's website but also appears to have been removed.[EMBED_TWITTER]https://twitter.com/Cybrid101/status/1380584365168672774[/EMBED_TWITTER]The SoGamely website link appears to be a French video game retail company, which lists Sonic Colors Ultimate Limited Edition as available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. The date on these is listed as December 31, 2021, but this date could be just a placeholder as it is the very last day of the year and not a date when games are often released.Sonic fans should take this news with a grain of salt, as some of the information doesn’t feel quite right. For one, the game is listed as 35 Euros, which is roughly $41, which is fairly cheap for a new release game. It’s also strange that the listing states that the remake of Sonic Colors would be coming out on the PS4 and Xbox One, which are now older consoles with the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2020. Whether or not this leak is real is yet to be seen, perhaps more news of the port will surface as E3 approaches.Next: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Has Officially Started ProductionSource: Cybrid101/Twitter, SoGamely
