Taylor Swift's short film for the 1o minute version of "All Too Well" had fans gushing on social media and obsessing over the countless easter eggs Taylor fit into it. With the extended medium of a short film as opposed to a music video, an artist can expand the story of their song.

With the growing success of more involved and elaborate marketing and projects for the re-recorded songs, fans think Taylor should expand her short film resume and went to Reddit to share what songs they think Taylor should use next.

"Dear John" - Speak Now

Redditor Sampleswift started the conversation about new short films, saying "I think the "All Too Well" short film is amazing and I'd like to see more like it" before listing "Dear John" as their pick for the Speak Now album.

Because "All Too Well" notoriously hinted at being inspired by one of Taylor's biggest exes, it's only fair for her other infamous former love interest to take on the lead character of a short film. "Dear John" is allegedly about John Mayer, who Taylor dated back in 2009 and 2010 and Taylor had a lot to say about their breakup via he music. It would be great to see it cinematically.

"Mine" - Fearless

Mine is a beloved song from Taylor's second album, Fearless. Reddit user donatellophone added to the discussion and thought that Fearless should get some appreciation since it was just re-recorded before Red. They wrote, "Mine deserves a movie. Like, any Fearless or Debut video should be a short film."

"Mine" has great narrative strength and tells the story of a girl experiencing real love for the first time after having a traumatic upbringing and being skeptical of relationships. The song follows their entire relationship and would be a powerful commentary on love and being guarded.

"Clean" - 1989

Taylor Swift's "1989" album.

Putting in their two cents, Reddit user riviera-views commented to say, "I think she could do something really cinematic and cool with Clean. I'd for that song to get more attention outside the fandom." Another Redditor, gayroombas, agreed and added, "It's such a richly narrated song, imagine the visuals."

Both users are right, and the lyrics for "Clean" provide incredible visuals that would be fantastic for the big screen. Lines like, "The sky turned black like a perfect storm" and "butterflies turned to dust that covered my whole room" tell a detailed story of a haunting former flame who left their mark.

"Speak Now" - Speak Now

The title track of Taylor's fifth studio album was suggested on the discussion board by Reddit user SarcastiKatt. They said, "I've always wanted to see a music video of some kind for Speak Now or Enchanted."

This would pair well with Taylor's most recent music video for her song "I Know You Think About Me," which is littered with cinematic easter eggs, similarly to "All Too Well." It's a more wholesome take on crashing a wedding, with the hope of love at the time for objections. The story would definitely be entertaining for long-time and new fans alike.

"How You Get The Girl" - 1989

Another song suggestion from 1989 was "How You Get The Girl." Redditor i-eat-cereal-dry added to the discussion board, writing, "I think How You Get The Girl would make a cool short film. It could be like a light-hearted rom com!"

With Taylor most recent content being largely about breakups and crashing exes' weddings (sort of), it would be a nice change of pace to have a bit of hopeful and happy romance. There are some iconic wholesome '90s rom-com couples out there - fittingly close to '89 - and Taylor could add two more starry-eyed lovers to the list by making it a period '89/90s piece.

"Cowboy Like Me" - Evermore

Evermore is one of Taylor's most recently recorded albums, so this short film wouldn't be for a re-recorded song from her previous work. But, fans are still eager to see the music from Evermore turned into a short film. Reddit user the_varky commented, "god what I'd do for a cowboy like me short film."

The lyrics for "Cowboy Like Me" tell a story about a girl who unexpectedly has her heartbroken by someone who's just as dangerous to love as she is. The song characterizes the two love interests as bandits, and it would be really interesting for Taylor to do a spin on some of the best westerns of all time.

"Mary's Song (Oh My My My)" - Debut

Taylor has yet to re-record her very first album, and fans are eager to get Taylor's Versions of their favorite Debut songs. One Reddit user, Blueflame407 shared, "My personal selection would be Mary's Song: Debut."

Taylor's debut album has some of the hits that made her a household name, like "Teardrops On My Guitar" and "Tim McGraw." "Mary's Song" is one of the tracks that's a bit lesser-known, but it would tell a beautiful story in a short film, as it follows two people who were best friends throughout their lives and fell in love. The verses are different ages of the two characters and would work well as chapters or scenes.

"Style" - 1989

The love for 1989 continues with the call for "Style" to be made into a short film. On the Reddit thread, Redditor augustine1713 said, "I know Style has a mv and I actually love it...however, I always felt like it didn't do justice to the perfect pop song that Style is."

Similar to "All Too Well" and "Dear John," "Style" is about another famous ex, Harry Styles. It does have a music video already, but it has a lot of potential for a short film featuring the high publicized former relationship. It's even already one of Taylor Swift's most played songs in movies and television.

"Call It What You Want" - reputation

Reddit user CaptainAyaAya28 had a lot of suggestions for short films and music videos that Taylor should release soon, but they thought one song would have a lot of meaning to both Taylor and fans. They said, "If Taylor is gonna release rep last then I feel like Call It What You Want should definitely be a film since it will kinda symbolize that she is in a different place."

reputation is an iconic album for Taylor, and it totally rebranded her music and image into a bada**. CaptainAyaAya28 is also right in that "Call It What You Want" is about being the underdog and coming out on top even when the odds are stacked and everything is going wrong. Because that is essentially what happened when Taylor left her contract, the song would have a lot of significance as a short film.

"Getaway Car" - 1989

By far, the most called-for song for Taylor to make into a short film was "Getaway Car" from her 1989 album. Reddit user darkgrayallalone was one of the many that commented the song title, and wrote, "The song is so perfectly suited for a film and I hope she makes one when reputation TV comes out."

The song mentions Bonnie and Clyde, the infamous criminals, and a short film featuring a heist in a "getaway car" would be a really fun way to bring the story of the song to life. With the ever-changing scenery for different robberies and traveling, Taylor would have a lot of opportunities for easter eggs.
