No game about Vikings would feel complete without the inclusion of Norse Mythology, and in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, players can visit Asgard as part of their quest to conquer the Anglo-Saxons. During that arc of the story, players will need to solve a puzzle to unseal the Well of Urdr. To do this, they will need to shine light on several sunstones in a certain pattern. Unlike some of the other puzzles and quests players can skip and return to at their own leisure, players will not be able to progress the main story until they have completed this puzzle and quest.
Players will meet Tyr at the well and find out they need to unseal it to collect the water they will need to continue their quest. To unseal the well, the player will interact with the orbs to split a stream of light. They will need to chain several orbs together and aim at the sunstone. This can be done in just a few moves, but it may take players a moment to figure out exactly how to reach the sunstone. How to Solve The Sunstones Puzzle in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
Once in the well with Tyr, players will need to walk around the room until they are directly across from the entrance. Here, they will see the light source, the first orb. After a brief line of dialogue offering the only hint, the player should interact with the orb to aim it at the sunstone above the entrance.
The light will split, bouncing off the sunstone. Players will need to move from the orb where the light originates and go left. As the player faces the exit, they will see a small platform to the right that will help them access a larger platform with another orb.
Players need to aim this second orb toward the one on the platform to their left. They will then need to go to that orb.
Players will aim the third orb down into the well, toward the upright rocks arranged in a circle. Near one of the rocks, players will see another sunstone. This is where the light from this third orb needs to go to complete this part of the puzzle.
The player should then enter the center of the room and move a second, mobile sunstone located beside the target. The exact positioning is tricky, but it is about two rocks counter-clockwise from the target.
Once the stone has been moved, the player should climb the stone stairs. With their back to the entrance, traveling to the first orb on the right and pointing it at the sunstone should cause the light to bounce from the sunstone and hit the target.
Once the light hits the target, the well will open. Players can enter the well to collect the water needed to progress their quest.
