After receiving the clue, examine the crown on the table inside the home base. Peony has been using the crown as a pillow, but will give it to the player upon prompting. Put the crown on the statue in the town and Calyrex will appear. Players cannot catch Calyrex at this time. After a brief cutscene, players will have learned that Calyrex needs help looking for their noble steed. To find Calyrex's steed, players are first tasked with asking the townspeople if they still believe in the King of Bountiful Harvests. After returning to Calyrex, players are then again tasked with asking the townspeople if they know anything about the King of Bountiful Harvests, but players will notice that the mayor is missing when returning to the town. He can be found outside of Freezington near broken buildings and raised garden beds. After speaking with the mayor, meet him at his house and speak with him again. He will direct the player's attention to books on a bookshelf. Players will need to read "Hardy Crops for the Tundra" before gaining access to the needed carrot seed. Upon reception of the seed, the player must then meet Calyrex at the normal spot and speak with the Pokémon.

After the player informs him that the seed has been obtained he will give the player the option to meet him in one of two places marked on your map. Moving to the ice field will give the player access to the Iceroot or Shaderoot if the player chooses the cemetery field. When the player obtains the carrot, Glastrier or Spectrier will smell its' favorite treat and take off towards Freezington. Upon arrival at Freezington, the player will see the horse Pokémon intimidating the citizens of the town. The player enters battle with the Pokémon, and since it cannot be caught here, the focus should be placed on defeating it as quickly as possible.

After the battle the player will receive hair from the horse Pokémons mane, prompting Calyrex to ask the player to help him obtain the Reins of Unity. After speaking with the villagers of Freezington, the player will discover that the Mayor's descendants were responsible for making the Reins of Unity for Calyrex in times past. Meet the Mayor at his home and speak with him. He will inform the player that he may be able to weave the Reins of Unity if the player can bring him hair from the horse Pokémons' mane and a Radiant Flower from the King of Bountiful Harvests himself. Meeting Calyrex in the usual location, the player informs the Pokémon of the Mayor's ability and the need for the flower, Calyrex will expend much of his energy in an attempt to create the flower. The player will receive a petal of a Radiant Flower and head back to the Mayor's home. The Mayor will attempt to weave the Reins, but will unfortunately fail. With no more clues to create the Reins, the player is at a loss. Suddenly, Peony will burst into the Mayor's home, and being his usual self, will interject himself into the conversation. Unbelievably, Peony has the ability to follow the Mayor's idea of the Reins and actually weave them himself using the tuft of hair and the Radiant Petal.

The player will then need to make their way to Calyrex and is informed that the next step is to lure the horse Pokémon with the carrot and Calyrex will use the Reins of Unity to bind himself to the horse Pokémon once again. The player makes way to the Crown Shrine and sets up an ambush for the horse Pokémon with the carrot. When the horse Pokémon appears, Calyrex leaps onto the horse Pokémon's back and, with the Reins of Unity, is reunited with his loyal steed once more. This will lead the player into a battle with Calyrex (Ice Rider or Shadow Rider). After catching Calyrex, players will find Legendary Clue 1 updated with a new quote and can report back to Peony at the base camp for his official mark of completion.
