Hogwarts Legacy players with a love of puzzles will find their ultimate test in Hogwarts Castle’s Depulso Puzzle Rooms. Two of these secret puzzle rooms can be found within the walls of Hogwarts, offering fiendishly difficult puzzles that involve moving sets of metal blocks using Accio and Depulso. Players who manage to complete these puzzles will receive useful gear and bragging rights. However, these puzzles are tricky enough that some players are sure to find themselves scrambling for solutions.
There’s no shortage of puzzles in Hogwarts, including Hogwarts Legacy's Arithmancy Puzzle Doors and the complex environmental puzzle located in the Bell Tower. To unlock the Depulso Puzzle Rooms, players need to complete The Hall of Herodiana side quest for Sophronia Franklin. Sophronia can be found near the Charms Classroom and will ask players to find the secret Hall of Herodiana. The Hall of Herodiana has a few Depulso puzzles, and essentially preps players for the more complex Depulso Puzzle Rooms.
Where To Find Depulso Puzzle Room 1 In Hogwarts Legacy
The first Depulso Puzzle Room is located near the Potions Classroom Floo Flame in the Library Annex of Hogwarts Castle. After teleporting to the Floo Flame, players should walk towards the Potions Classroom, taking a left and going down some stairs. Players will find a door with a Level I Alohomora lock at the end of the corridor. After passing through the door, players will find themselves in a hallway.
On the right wall is a switch that can be activated with Depulso, opening the door to Depulso Puzzle Room 1.
Depulso Puzzle Room Basics
The first thing players will notice is that Depulso Puzzle Room 1 is much more complex than the Hall of Herodiana. However, players can grab everything in this room by following these steps. Players only need Accio and Depulso here; they may not be the best spells in Hogwarts Legacy, but they’re useful puzzle-solving tools.
One final thing player should remember is that hitting the switch on the wall with Basic Cast will reset the whole room. It’s a useful trick that players can use to make solving the puzzle rooms easier, or to start again if things don’t go according to plan.

How To Get The Fourth And Final Chest In Depulso Puzzle Room 1
These puzzles are a little trickier than other side quests, such as finding Hogwarts Legacy's Ghost of Our Love treasure. However, after opening the third chest, players can return to the entrance of the room, where a fourth chest will appear. Inside is a random Conjuration for the Room of Requirement. Having completed one of Hogwarts’ best-hidden secrets, players can always head to Hogsmeade for a quick Butterbeer to celebrate.
Alternatively, players who haven’t yet had their fill of puzzles can always try their hand at other puzzles in Hogwarts Castle or try and uncover the ancient castle’s other secrets. There’s plenty to do, whether it’s searching for Eyeball Chests and Field Guide Pages, finding and catching Daedalian Keys, or tracking down Hogwarts Legacy's Demiguise statues. Finally, there’s also Hogwarts Legacy’s second Depulso Puzzle Room, which can be found near the Bell Tower Courtyard for players who’d really like a challenge.
