After a year's wait, the annual Solstice event has returned in Destiny 2 with new challenges, activities, rewards, and more. Solstice is a time for celebration in Destiny 2, bringing Guardians together for a summer-themed festival that is perfect for new and veteran players alike. This year, Solstice features several action items that Guardians can finish before the event ends on August 9. There are multiple quests, Event Challenges to complete, and a brand new set of armor for players to upgrade over the next couple of weeks.
Completing the Celebrating Solstice quest is the first thing that Guardians will want to take care of. This quest only has eight steps to complete before it is finished, and it begins by visiting Eva Levante in the tower to receive the full set of Candescent armor. The quest will take players through everything they'll be accomplishing over the next couple of weeks, from Bonfire Bash to upgrading armor, earning some new weapon god rolls, and everything in between. Additionally, new quests and Event Challenges are unlocked by completing Celebrating Solstice, so it should be a top priority for all Guardians.
Upon finishing the Celebrating Solstice quest, Guardians can take the rest of the event into their own hands. However, it's best to progress through the next quest called A Guardian in Shining Armor. This quest continues the work of the first, requiring players to complete more Event Challenges and creating further upgrades to the Candescent armor set. Upon being fully upgraded, the Candescent armor will have rerolled stats that will most likely be great additions to any build. Furthermore, completing the A Guardian in Shining Armor quest will unlock the Rekindling the Spark quest.
Everything You Need To Know About Solstice 2022
This Solstice has four currencies, namely Silver Leaves, Silver Ash, Kindling, and Event Tickets. Silver Leaves are earned by completing activities across the system while wearing the Candescent armor. By completing Bonfire Bash, Guardians can turn Silver Leaves into Silver Ash by interacting with the fire at the end of the activity. Guardians can get Event Tickets and Kindling in Destiny 2 by completing the Event Challenges. Kindling is used alongside Silver Ash to upgrade the Candescent armor, while Event Tickets are used to purchase cosmetics from the Event Card.
Lastly, Guardians should be trying to get a god roll for the Compass Rose Shotgun and Something New Hand Cannon. Both weapons are randomly obtained by completing Bonfire Bash and claiming the rewards afterward. Once Solstice ends, however, both of these weapons will be unobtainable until the event returns in Destiny 2 the following year.
