UPDATE: The new Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer is here!
It has now been confirmed the second (and presumably final) trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released tomorrow. Lucasfilm's second Star Wars anthology has had a very different marketing campaign compared to the previous three films of the studio's Disney era. Whereas the likes of The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and Last Jedi essentially had year-long campaigns with various checkpoints (teaser, behind-the-scenes reel, trailer), the ball on Solo only got rolling a couple of months ago. The first bits of footage was released during the Super Bowl, giving viewers a tiny taste of Alden Ehrenreich's Han.
With the film just over a month away, it was widely expected a new look at Solo would be released at some point this month, signaling the arrival of a big promotional push. As it turns out, that's exactly what's happening and it won't be much longer until the next preview is unveiled for all to see.

The surprise announcement comes courtesy the official Star Wars Twitter account, posting a short teaser consisting of the Millennium Falcon engines firing up as it flies through danger. The actual trailer will debut on the American Idol broadcast.
It's unknown what will be shown in the trailer right now, but hopefully it sheds more light on the film's story. Outside of a vague synopsis mentioning Han's youth and first encounter with Chewbacca, plot details are hard to come by. Coverage from EW's massive spread earlier this year made it sound like a major component of the narrative is Han trying to make a name for himself in the galactic underworld by pulling off a job robbing the Conveyex with his mentor, Tobias Beckett. It would be nice if the preview dedicated some time to setting up the villains of the piece, which are largely unknown at this point. Recently, it was confirmed Enfys Nest is a female antagonist, but it doesn't sound like she's the main adversary.
Of course, the footage should also spotlight the performances of the main ensemble, particularly Ehrenreich. The teaser did an effective job at demonstrating he could make for a good Han, but it'll be nice to see some more evidence to support that belief. And perhaps we'll finally get to hear Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian speak. The character was an instant hit in February just by flashing a charming smile, so it would be fun to see Glover and Ehrenreich play off each other a bit and flesh out one of the franchise's more complicated relationships.
