New images from Solo: A Star Wars Story offer up more looks at the film's cast and story. Lucasfilm has finally started to unveil the mystery behind their second anthology film. Following the controversy over directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller being fired mid-production, Ron Howard stepped in to guide the project to the finish line. Based on the first bits of marketing, Solo may be in good hands after all. Marketing began with a quick Solo teaser during the Super Bowl, and was followed up by the full Solo teaser trailer a day later.
The conversation around the film hasn't stopped since, what with Solo character posters having also been revealed, along with a fan-made Solo Super Bowl teaser and trailer mashup. Solo was also one of the top two most talked about trailers from the Super Bowl, and Lucasfilm is keeping the movie's marketing momentum going even now, via the release of these first look Solo photos.
EW released several new images this morning from Solo: A Star Wars Story, along with their Solo cover story. The photos provide a fresh look at Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, but also show off plenty of other characters too. Also highlighted here are Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian), Emilia Clarke (Qi'ra), and Woody Harrelson (Tobias Beckett), among others. You can check out those Solo images in the gallery below.

While some of these images appear to be taken from the same scenes that were featured in both the Solo Super Bowl spot and teaser trailer, others are brand-new in that respect. The photos show that Han and Chewbacca are part of a heist aboard the double-sided train from the trailer, one that appears to feature a rather fun looking fight sequence. It isn't clear what they're stealing or who takes part in the fight, however. There are also teases here of Lando playing sabacc, which eventually leads to Han gaining ownership of the Millennium Falcon.
The photos aren't the only pieces of the EW spread, with all the photos featuring accompanying quotes from Howard, as well as screenwriters Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, and the film's stars. Some of the more intriguing details include Lawrence Kasdan called the film a love story for Han and Chewie, Beckett having the most influence on Han at this younger age, Howard teasing the Falcon's story, and more. There's also confirmation that the former Expanded Universe planet Mimban will be featured in Solo, and it wouldn't be surprising to learn it was featured in the marketing already.
This won't be the last bit of marketing that we get from Solo this week, but these images continue to keep the conversation around the film alive and well. Stay tuned for even more Solo-related goodness, shortly!
